He graduated from San Jose State College and attended The Ruskin School of Art, Oxford University, England. Moesle lives in the Chateau region of France, which he finds to be an ideal location for a watercolorist. Moesle paints outside and enjoys watching the landscape change through the seasons. Unlike most watercolorists, Moesle takes his time painting and tries to capture the feeling of durability in his subjects.
