Bright and dynamic abstract by San Francisco abstract expressionist William Aldridge (20th Century). Layers of acrylic paint have been applied to a smooth surface, creating a transparent effect in some areas. The artist has scratched and scraped the paint, created textured lines in the composition. A layer of glaze has been applied over the top, creating some craquelure and texture.
Signed "W. Aldridge" in the lower right corner.
Artist's name and title on verso.
Presented in a wood frame with a grey background mat and and green accent mat.

William was part of a bay area movement that included Leonardo Meyer. Studied at The California College of Arts and Crafts, now California College of the Arts CalArts.
