Art Informel is and expressionist, artist-oriented abstraction rooted in the works of Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Jean Dubuffet, and Tachiste and Surrealist automatism. A style primarily of painting that developed in 1945/46 as reaction to geometric abstraction prevailing in post war Paris in the following of the École de Paris. Informel is an international style and can be subdivided into various schools.
