The Missing Piece
Located in Belfast, GB
The Missing Piece is a bronze artwork suitable for inside or outdoor display. Pollock is referencing life in with the crow and the puzzle piece. "I never limit myself to one subject or style of work and can never say where the work will go next, which makes it exciting for myself and I hope for the viewer. I like the fact that bronze is so permanent, a bronze sculpture is going to be around forever." - Pollock (2019) Dublin born sculptor Ian Pollock is primarily a self-taught artist who has spent his career working in the Cast Foundry in the Liberties area of Dublin. Working exclusively in bronze, Pollock has worked with art ever since he was a young child. His work is a three dimensional diary of his daily existence. His bronzes are cast using a 'cire perdue' (lost wax) method in ceramic shell moulds. In the pursuit of excellence, he has compiled meticulous craftsmanship in the medium of bronze sculpture. Inspiration for his sculptures comes from aspects of daily life, Pollock sees his work 'as a three dimensional diary' of his life; "I never limit myself to one subject or style of work and can never say where the work will go next, which makes it exciting for myself and I hope for the viewer. I like the fact that bronze is so permanent, a bronze sculpture is going to be around forever". Pollock has exhibited and sold his work throughout Ireland and the UK; including the Oireachtas, RHA, and the RUA (where he won the Mullan Prize for sculpture in 2003). Pollock's work can be found in the collections of the Office of Public Works and University College Dublin, as well as many private collections in Europe and the USA. Large commissions include an eleven foot flight of birds for Largy College in Clones, Co. Monaghan, along with many life size private commissions. Pollock continues to exhibit with Gormleys Gallery...

Venus
Located in Greenwich, CT
Edition of 21 Jane DeDecker, American, b. 1961 Jane DeDecker’s energetic and dynamic bronze sculptures serve as a reflection of her own life experiences and those of her closely-knit family. Her twelve nieces and nephews are the primary source of her inspiration, though DeDecker’s sculptures are not portraits. In fact, her loose style leaves her viewers with room for interpretation, so as to see their own lives within her sculptures. This imprecision, combined with her unique ability to capture specific moments to which each viewer can relate on a personal level, regardless of age, give DeDecker’s work a timeless quality that spans generations. DeDecker began her artistic training as a painter at the University of Northern Colorado, until a professor, noticing her joy in the portrayal of shapes and forms, suggested she try her hand at sculpture. Taking his advice, DeDecker went on to study at Gobelins School of Tapestry in Paris...

Silver Mini Corkscrew #33
Located in Napa, CA
Patinaed Steel with Redwood Handle David Tanych has been building objects since his father gave him a saw, hammer, nails and a block of wood at the age of 10. A veteran home and furniture builder, David turned his interest in design and fabrication from the functional and practical to the imaginative and artistic. Interested in welding and the properties of metal, David attended two summer sessions in blacksmithing at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, where he began to connect to a medium much different than wood. Intrigued and inspired by the strength and flexibility of steel, Tanych started using it to construct functional objects such as tables, picture frames, and garden pergolas. As his skill progressed, Tanych began building huge outdoor steel sculptures. Likened to the work of veteran sculptor Claes Oldenburg, Tanych's most recent pieces are big and bold, representing everyday objects such as a skeleton key and matching keyhole, and a set of three jacks and a ball. The results are fun and playful, instantly bringing the viewer back to a time when these items were common place. When complete, the sculptures are acid etched, allowing them to rust naturally and adding a textural dimension to their unique charm. Tanych’s work alters the environment in which they are placed, in a way that could not be otherwise realized. Tanych’s works have been featured in many publications including Architectural Digest, Dwell Magazine, Forbes Life, the Time Square kiosk. His work can also be viewed in numerous public and private collections including Leisureland; Palm Springs Sculpture...

Located in Greven, DE
Great king vulture on tree trunk Porcelain, Model by J.J. Kaendler 1734. This present porcelain sculpture was made after the model by Kaendler, in the 19th or 20th Century. There are no visible marks. Kaendler and Porcelain: Dresden in the 18th century owed its Europe-wide fame as a centre of courtly splendour to the elector Frederick Augustus I (1670-1733). 'August the Strong' had a distinct passion for collecting and was not only a patron and lover of the arts, but also an enthusiastic patron of science. His natural history cabinet was regarded as the most important collection of its kind in Europe and contained a large number of exotic animals. He financed expeditions, from which the researchers were to bring the 'most possible species of their animals alive or in skins and skeletons or even crushed' back to Dresden. Johann Joachim Kaendler had this extensive collection of partly living exhibits at his disposal when he was commissioned to design life-sized animal sculptures for the 'Japanese Palace...

Butterfly, 30"high mixed media, unique sculpture
Located in Loveland, CO
"Butterfly" by Chapel 30x12x10" one-of-a-kind sculpture Mixed Media: Dyed Concrete, Steel, and Marble This particular piece is available from the estate of the artist. It is in excellent, like-new, condition. Shipping price includes the custom packing necessary for safe transport of fine art. Chapel, 1948-2021, Artist's Statement: “I was raised on the Western Slope of Colorado, with almost unfettered access to the American wilderness. I currently reside on a sailboat in Oakland, CA with my studio in nearby San Leandro. I work with permanent materials including bronze, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, glass and stone. It is my contention that a work of art must include a complete environment, not just a single object. In my opinion, it is very difficult to convey meaning with either pure abstraction, or pure representation. Describing an abstract concept with another abstraction does not define the subject. There is nothing in a completely non-objective artwork from the viewers experience upon which to base some meaning. One the other hand, a completely realistic presentation doesn't define an abstraction any better than a dictionary. This is why my sculpture is a blend - the symbolic joining of modern man with primitive experience. They are in-depth studies of the archetypes and symbols used to communicate their relevance to our everyday lives. Mythology, poetry and art are humanity's attempt to describe the mysteries of life which are beyond our ability to consciously comprehend. This is the appeal of the visual arts, poetry, literature and music; they excite an emotional response, or memory that transcends mere words.” - Ron Chapel...

White Tulips and Vase, April 4 - Contemporary, 21st Century, Sculpture
Located in Zug, CH
Donald Sultan, White Tulips and Vase, April 4, 2014 Contemporary, 21st Century, Limited Edition Painted aluminum on polished aluminum base Edition of 25 61 x 50,8 x 8,9 cm (24 x 20 x 3.5 in.) Incised with the artists initials, titled and dated; accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity In mint condition, as acquired from the publisher in the original packaging PLEASE NOTE: Edition numbers could vary from the one shown in the images. White Tulips and Vase, April 4, 2014, belong to Sultan’s famous Flower series. The artist is credited for the revival of the still life tradition where the image is deconstructed to the basic elements, thus Sultan’s work remains both abstract and representational. One of the mainstays of making art is that you don't think of the new ideas, you discover them. "One of the mainstays of the making art is that you don't think of the new ideas, you discover them." — Donald Sultan White Tulips and Vase, April 4, 2014, represents Sultan's still-life, where the shape of the object is reduced to the bare essentials. The image reveals one of the key features of Sultan’s work - the material juxtaposition- the contrast of a weighty background with ethereal shapes of the flowers. The sculpture is made from painted aluminum on a polished aluminum base. The ephemeral shape of the flowers is gracefully combined with the weighty aluminum manifesting the synthesis of the natural and the industrial typical to Sultan´s work. The sculpture is incised with title, date, and artist initials, it is as well stamped with the edition number, publisher, and artist copyright stamp on the base verso. DONALD SULTAN Donald Sultan (born 1951, Asheville, US) is a distinguished painter, sculptor, and printmaker, who rose to prominence in the late 1970s as part of the “New Image” movement. He is best known for the use of abstracted, geometric black forms against organic areas of bright color. Donald Sultan (USA, born 1951) is a distinguished painter, sculptor, and printmaker, who rose to prominence in the late 1970s as part of the New Yorker “New Image” movement. He has a unique artistic method and innovative approach to traditional subject matter. Known as Abstract Representation, Donald Sultan´s art is characterized by the use of geometric black forms set against organic areas of bright color, thus bringing an abstract sensibility to his iconographic images of still life. Throughout his career he has revisited and reinvented still life, using images of lemons, poppies, playing cards, fruits, flowers, and other objects. Donald Sultan’s Lemons...
