Baroque was specifically for the wealthy and noble classes and made use of rich and lavish materials including gilded bronze, velvet and silk. Because Baroque style was very heavy and dramatic, typical Baroque color schemes were mostly jewel tones, red and gold.

Rococo originated between the 1730s and 1760s in France, and Baroque first appeared in the early 18th century in Italy and lasted until the beginning of the 19th.
