Antique 18th Century German Baroque Warm Brown Solid Oak Display Cabinet

About the Item

This German Baroque display or kitchen cabinet has a beautiful warm brown color with soft gloss and a rich patina. The cabinet consists of two pieces. The lower cabinet features five stacked drawers flanked by two doors with elevated panels. The upper cabinet is equipped with two doors with glazing bars. Note the small proportion of the glazing bars in the upper cabinet, maximizing the glass surface and display area. The upper cabinet has two fixed shelves. The interior of the lower cabinet features two fixed shelves on either side. The cabinet has a rural origin that is situated along the Mosel area in Germany and dates circa 1760. It is completely made of high-quality European summer oak. It has a light warm brown color with deep gloss and great patina built up over the many years and endless waxing and polishing. The locks and keys have been renewed a few decades ago for newly forged ones. The whole piece was gently cleaned in our atelier and a new protective wax coat was applied. The piece is clean, solid, and ready for use.
