Quatrefoil dish designed by Bvlgari. This is a beautiful vintage cup vase created in Rome Italy by the luxury house of Bulgari, back in the 1970's. This quatrefoil dish has been carefully crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with high polished finish and decorated with 24 kt gold gilding in the interior. Very versatile piece to be used as a salt cellar or caviar. Country: Arezzo, Milano, Italy, Period: Modernism, 1970. Weight: 56.95 grams, (36.51 Dwt). Measurements: H. 40 mm by L. 52 mm by D. 52 mm, (1.57 x 2.05 x 2.05 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the Italian control mark for the assay and warranty of silver and signed in full as follows, "BVLGARI .925 *304AR". Bvlgari The company was founded in the late 19th century by Sotirio Bulgari, who was born in 1857 in Greece and was descended from a talented family of silversmiths. In 1884 he opened his first shop in Rome on the Via Sistina, and then in 1905 he moved to the actual flag's store in Via dei Condotti. Upon Sotirio’s death in 1932 his sons, Giorgio and Costantino, took over the business. They are credited with creating the highly distinctive ‘Bvlgari’ style, inspired by Greek and Roman classicism revival, the Italian Renaissance, and the 19th century Roman school of goldsmiths.
