For over a decade, Santorini has inspired Jacobson with its magical beauty and radiance. Many believe Santorini to be the location of the lost city of Atlantis. This painting expresses the eternal stillness, beauty and mystery of the island at night. The glittering lights of the villages crest the tops of the island and the reflections of the light shimmer on the dark turquoise waters of the Caldera. Jacobson creates her paintings with many layers of acrylic paint on canvas, giving her work a luminous and translucent quality.
