This idyllic notion rose to incredible popularity during the Belle Epoque, culminating in a variety of sculptors depicting such scenarios in bronze. Then copies would be made of the original bronzes which were cast in spelter and given a hand-applied finish to mimic the look of bronze. Note the detail in the garments, the bough of flowers, even the love birds on the ground at their feet!
