Buddy No_002 Sculpture by AOAO
Located in Geneve, CH
Buddy No_002 Sculpture by AOAO Dimensions: W 23 x D 28 x H 30 cm Materials: Ceramic Bisque Color options available upon request. The idea was born after deciding to reconnect with my family and my grandfather – a sculptor artist. Learning to sculpt and being a designer compelled me to combine these two mediums and use their best values. Experimenting with the functionality of sculpture and the meaning of furniture led me to create the collection. Studio AOAO is an interdisciplinary studio combining art and design. It was created by Alicja Strzyzynska and Onur Iseri in Amsterdam in 2020. “We specialise in making sculptural pieces by experimenting with the functionality of sculpture and the meaning of furniture. In our works, we focus on the emotional connection between the object and the user. All of our work seeks the experience of intimacy and the metaphysical bond between personal interaction and meaningful narrative. Through sculptural value and reflective design, we aim to create pieces that last for generations and help reduce environmental waste.” The inspiration to sculpt came from Alicja’s roots, her grandfather – an artist sculptor. Alicja completed Masters of Arts Degree in Product and Visual Communication Design at Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and finished her bachelor degree in Interior Architecture. Alicja previously worked in Tokyo and Amsterdam in architectural design studios. Onur completed his business studies in Japan and worked in digital design & marketing as well as teaching in Tokyo. The studio’s first collection debuted at Rossana Orlandi Gallery during Milan Design Week 2021. The studio currently collaborates with RO Gallery...

Sculptural Beechwood Functional Coat Rack Surfaced by Sho Ota
By Sho Ota
Located in Amsterdam, NL
At the intersection of industrial design and craftsmanship, Sho's sculptural works are both minimalistic and multi-layered. Every piece of collectible design is handmade by Sho himself. The development of the final form appears slowly through the making process and also depends on the wood – its appearance and texture can vary, making each piece unique. With all joints of the coat rack left visible, Sho Ota brings back the pleasure of contemplating real wood. With his design objects, Sho seeks to find an alternative to industrially - flattened wood and instead encourages us to discover the imperfection of this natural material. Sho Ota's special sence of color gives this wooden functional sculpture...

Under Pressure 6 by Yuri van Poppel
Located in Geneve, CH
Under Pressure 6 by Yuri van Poppel Dimensions: D 27 x H 55 cm One of a kind. Earthenware, layered ceramic glazes, various colours. Handmade and spray-painted by hand by SunkOne. Removable lid. Everlasting graffiti spray-painted with ceramic glaze. Under Pressure pays homage to the rich history and culture of graffiti writing, referencing both a writer’s tools and targets at the same time. From the cap of the first marker used to get up, to the fire extinguisher used for getting up higher. An echo of structures and machinery, industrial wastelands in the orange night light. Powerful memories and sensations poured into a robust ob- ject -and a refined work of art. A unique handmade earthenware object, spray-painted by hand in various layers of ceramic glaze. Glazed Graffiti explores the aesthetic value of vandalism. A post-graffiti project by SunkOne, aiming to eternize graffiti-writing by trespassing into a new artistic medium. Glazed Graffiti was born out of the desire to write graffiti that lasts forever. To make this shift from ephemeral to eternal, graffiti writer SunkOne had to cross the boundaries of traditional street graffiti. By changing the con- text of street tagging he wants to further explore the aesthetics of what is often labeled as vandalism. To him, the tactility, opacity and shine of ceramic glaze mirrored...
