This exceptional antique George V English sterling silver cobbler cocktail shaker has a tapering cylindrical form. The surface of this cocktail shaker embellished with impressive engine turned decoration. This cobbler shaker retains the original hallmarked domed push fit cover and stopper, each accented with further bands of engine turned ornamentation to the cylindrical portions. The detachable push fit hallmarked sterling silver stopper allows access to the integrated pierced decorated straining grille; this hallmarked grill is incorporated to the upper portion of the aforementioned removeable cover. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet; an addition to our wine and drinks related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped pedestal and circular spreading foot, in the classic pineapple style. The body of this impressive antique silver goblet is composed of chased and embossed lozenge shaped convex panels, replicating the fruitlets/spikes of a pineapple, each ornamented with a quatrefoil-floral design. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive quatrefoil shaped cartouche displaying the contemporary engraved monogram initials 'HM'. The upper rim is encompassed with an applied band of bead decoration. The waisted pedestal features a circular knop to the centre encircled with further floral motifs. The circular spreading foot is encompassed with a continuation of segmented lozenge panels, reflecting that of the body. This sterling silver goblet retains the original gilding; the gilding to the exterior of the goblet has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion. Condition This antique 1800s silver gilt goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. This is a very good PAIR of large diameter Antique Wine Bottle Coasters, made from Sterling Silver and Sheffield Plate, dating to Circa 1790, George 111rd, Regency period.. The design of antique wine coasters follows the style of the period that they were made, in with this set being circular, plainer and less fussy, dating them to Circa 1790. They all tended to follow the basic design of a circular gallery with a turned hard-wood base, having a central silver button for crests or monograms, and a baize-covered base. They were always made in sets, normally as pairs, just like this set. The main body is made from Sheffield plate, which is worn in places, adding to its charm and authenticity in our view, with the central monogrammed button and the four applied leaf borders on the top rim being sterling silver. Another advantage of this set is the large internal diameter of about 4~5/8 inches, allowing for larger bottles such as champagne bottles to sit in the coasters. We cannot find any makers marks on either coaster. Overall a very good antique set of large Georgian wine coasters...

Antique early-20th Century English solid silver and mounted on Spode Copeland's China novelty wine jug, in the form of a standing cockatoo, set with coloured glass eyes and white porcelain body imitating textured plumage, mounted with a realistically modelled silver head and feet. Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), Sheffield, year 1912 (u), Maker A&CoLt (Asprey & Co Ltd). The world-famous English luxury manufacturer and retailer Asprey & Co started as a small silk printing business by William Asprey in Mitcham, Surrey. Soon the company largely expanded its offering by purchasing some other firms. By 1847 Asprey moved to its iconic premises at New Bond Street in London and established its flagship store, where one could buy all ranges of exquisite goods, from books to dressing cases with silver details. At the International Exhibition in 1862, Asprey high-quality dressing cases won a gold medal, which brought the company a worldwide reputation for exquisite craftsmanship. The Royal Warrant, which was awarded by her Majesty Queen Victoria the same year, just perpetuated that reputation. Since then, Asprey has received a Royal Warrant from every British monarch. Besides dressing cases, the company produced and retailed a wide range of exclusive goods, including silver, gold, jewelry, stationery, cutlery, tableware, etc. In the 20th century, commissions poured from all over the world and by the 1920s Asprey created them not only for British Royalty, but for foreign Royals and heads of states as well. The most sensational orders of all were the exquisite pearl necklace for Queen Mary and the teak and silver traveling trunks for the five beloved wives of the Maharaja of Patiala. The 20s and 30s were the golden era of the Art Deco style, of which Asprey was a big adopter, many of its luxury goods from that time became iconic, such as Asprey cigarette cases...

The body of this impressive antique silver goblet is encompassed with a central band of chased and engraved scrolling foliate and floral decoration, incorporating swan and vase ornamentation, all on a matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive cartouche displaying the contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting between two arms embowed a sun in splendour. The cylindrical upper rim is encompassed with further scrolling leaf decoration, flanked with an applied dart decorated border to the nadir and a moulded border to the rim. The cast silver waisted pedestal features a spiralling bead design, incorporating scrolling motifs to the upper portion, replicating the details of an architectural column. The circular spreading foot is embellished with impressive cast figural mask designs alternating with layered leaf motifs, all ornamented with further bead decoration. The swept rim of the slightly weighted base is further ornamented with a leaf decorated festoon. This sterling silver goblet retains the original gilding; the gilding to the exterior of the goblet has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion.
