These exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver peppers are realistically modelled in the form of owls/owlets.
These silver pepperettes have been embellished with details reproducing the birds' plumage and anatomical features.
Each of the silver owls retains the original, hallmarked push fit cover/head ornamented to the upper portion with pierced 'pepper' holes.
The underside of each owl bears the engraved presentation inscription 'Samuel'.

John D. Macomber was a prominent corporate executive and board member of leading financial companies and nonprofit organizations. Macomber joined McKinsey & Company after graduating from Harvard Business School, rose to partner, and led the firm’s expansion into Europe while he was based in London, Geneva and Paris in the 1960s. He left McKinsey to helm the Celanese Corporation in New York, a global fiber and chemical company. He oversaw its expansion and dramatically increased share value, partly through stock buybacks — a concept he was one of the first to implement. Celanese was acquired by Hoechst AG of Germany in 1987 making it the world’s largest chemical company at the time. Macomber was then recruited by President George H.W. Bush to head the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

This stunning antique silver-plated egg coddler stand by Mapple Princess Plate, London & Sheffield exemplifies the finest craftsmanship of the late 19th century. Designed in a refined Art Deco style circa 1880, this remarkable piece combines both functionality and aesthetic elegance.
The set features four silver-plated egg holders with four matching spoons, all gracefully presented on a finely detailed pierced basket stand resting on four balled feet. The central ring handle provides balance and ease of serving, while the sculpted edge and polished finish add sophistication to the overall design.
Each egg cup measures approximately 2 1/3" in height by 1 7/8" in diameter, and the basket itself measures 6 1/2" in height by 6 3/4" in width by 7 3/4" in depth.
