An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver gilt and celluloid fifteen piece travelling vanity set - boxed; part of our silverware collection. This exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian sterling silver and celluloid vanity set consists of a hand mirror, a pair of hair brushes, a pair of clothes brushes, a pair of scent bottles, a pair of pin jars, a toothbrush holder, a soap jar, a hip flask and a boudoir clock. Each blown and cut glass container bears a plain silver gilt mount to the rim; due to the variety in sizes these versatile jars could be used for a multitude of functions. The glass vessels are fitted with a domed silver gilt cover, bearing an impressive applied monogram initials 'MK' to the centre; the toothbrush, soap and one of the pin jars have push fit covers and the second pin jar bears a screw fitment. The scent bottles bear hinged covers, which open to reveal the original hallmarked stopper and cork to the interior. The exceptional cut glass hip flask has a plain cylindrical sterling silver gilt mount with a hinged circular plain domed cover, securing with a bayonet fitting*. The plain lower portion of this silver hip flask is fitted with the original hallmarked push fit sterling silver gilt beaker; this bears further applied monogram initials, reflecting those to the covers. The surface of the exceptional waisted rectangular-shaped boudoir clock is plain and embellished to the upper incurved plateau with further applied monogram initials. The upper portion of the clock further bears a plain angular swing carrying handle with ball style terminals. The white enamel dial is ornamented with black hour Roman numerals, encircled with plain black chapter ring of minute markers. The face of this timepiece is visible through a rectangular bevelled glass 'window'. The hallmarked hinged door opens to reveal the original French eight-day movement; the door has a subtle rounded thumbpiece to facilitate opening. The clock movement is fitted with an incorporated hinged winding key featuring an a shaped handle with lobed fingerpieces. The antique celluloid...

An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver cigarette box in the Art Deco style; an addition to the ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver cigarette box has a plain rectangular form onto four bracket style feet. The surface of this impressive silver box is embellished with impressive engine turned decoration. The box is fitted with two hallmarked hinged covers each embellished with further panels of engine turned decoration in addition to an applied leaf border which continues across a central plateau. The interior of each solid silver cover features a paralleling band of engine turned decoration in addition to the part hallmarks; decoration to the posterior surface of a cover is an indication of the fine quality of a piece. The central plateau is surmounted with an impressive shaped handle, in the Art Deco style. The body of this exceptional box features the original cedar wood lining. This antique Art Deco cigarette box has a weighted base and retains the original leatherette covering to the underside. The box is supported by four impressive cast silver, Art Deco style stepped bracket feet. By virtue of its size this versatile vintage cigarette box could be used for a multitude of functions. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George VI English sterling silver and enamel three piece dressing table set; part of our silverware collection. This impressive antique George V sterling silver and enamel dressing table set consists of a hand mirror, hair brush and clothes brush. Each piece of this ladies dressing table set is embellished with an exceptional panel of white guilloche enamel, accented with a repetitive blue geometric diaper pattern with gold lobed motifs to each incurve. The sterling silver body of each piece is embellished with embossed scrolling leaf designs to the upper and lower portions. The antique hand mirror and hair brush have an arched shaped form to a rounded handle; each piece bears further scrolling leaf ornamentation to the lower corners of the arched sections. The handles of the hair brush and hand mirror are ornamented with an impressive panel of solid blue guilloche enamel. The rounded sides and anterior surface of this impressive mirror are plain and unembellished. The mirror retains its original shaped bevelled glass. The clothes brush has an elongated oval shaped form, with a sterling silver hallmarked handle. Each brush bears the engraved markings 'Pure Bristle' and retains the original authentic horse hair bristles. Condition: This antique enamel dressing table set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each piece has been has been professionally polished. The horse hair bristles to the brushes are in exceptional condition and have seen little sign of use or wear. The enamel panels are in perfect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the rim of each brush and surface of the mirror are very clear; the hallmarks to the mirror have wear in keeping with age and location but remain legible.
