Naive Halvi Bijar Mystical Energy-Filled Art from the Spiritually Connected Weavers About: One of my All-time favorite pieces ever - for the rug nerds, collectors, and lovers out there - you know there is something mystical and special about the true wool-on-wool bidjars woven by some of the most resilient and creative weavers of all time. Not only the people, but the rugs themselves are so nomadic given that their materials are organic wool pile and foundation along with the most vivid and natural dyes. Insanely unique variations of pale blues that shift a tad darker or light and then to a blue-green with pops of sunflower yellows and nice rich yet mature reds. The size alone puts this into the turn of the century category, and then the naive deconstructed Water Garden, or Herati, design seems to keep the eyes guessing and the soul happy. You can tell this piece was woven from pure imagination with no template or planning - just sitting down and weaving a magical textile that most likely took 6-12 months and possibly alongside family creating this divine and energy-filled beauty together! 19th Century hand hooked rug in a free form design,  We are intrigued with the novelty and the imagination of the maker in creating such a wonderful and rare design in earth tone colors.  The  hooked rugs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are made with recycled old material, often used clothing that had been cut into narrow stripes.  The foundation of hooked rugs is generally burlap material which the maker uses the stenciling technique to transfer the pattern into the surface.  Once the design has been transferred to burlap, it would then be  filled with the recycled material stripes and more recently yarn using the hooking technique.    Because of the delicacy in the material and construction of vintage hand hooked rugs...
