Sculptural Side Table by Donatas Zukauskas
Located in Geneve, CH
Sculptural Side Table by Kasanai Dimensions: D 45 x H 54 cm. Materials: Oak, cement, recycled paper, glue, paint. 6 kg. The visual inspiration for the side table is a combination of natural wood and concrete. These two opposite materials combined, create a unique character of the product that has the coldness of concrete and the coziness of wood. The main goal of the project was to create not only a piece of furniture, but also a sculptural and elegant detail of the interior. The tabletop is made of natural oak, and the base of the table, resembling concrete in appearance, is made by pouring solid mass. The set task was technologically challenging - it was necessary to fuse wet mass and moisture-sensitive wood. The entire structure of the table is manufactured at the same time, so that the two materials join together smoothly and precisely to avoid any gaps. After the product dries, it is scrubbed, and the tabletop is oiled. The black concrete-like material is the result of various experiments. It is a mixture of several components: an eco-friendly of cement, recycled paper, glue, and paint. Dried it becomes as strong as wood, it resembles concrete but is slightly elastic, so it does not split or crumble. The result is a natural texture and strength that ensures durability, setting it apart as a unique and sustainable piece Donatas Žukauskas...

Contemporary Organic Natural Plaster "Sami" Table 190cm by Isabelle Beaumont
Located in Ranst, BE
Contemporary Belgian design, handmade natural plaster dining table with a textured and earthy character. Indoor use (price outdoor +10%) The name of the Sami collection is a combination of the Dutch word 'samen' (together) and the Japanese word 'Sabi' (rustic patina). The Sami designs are distinguished by the shape that is carried through the entire piece of furniture, from top to base. By allowing all lines to flow in the same direction, peace and unity is created. The Sami dining table is handcrafted with multiple layers Mortex® on a wooden base. Mortex is a premium natural plaster that has proven its quality in construction purposes for years. It is used for bathrooms, floors, stairs, swimming pools, etc. In terms of composition, it is similar to products like Betoncire or Venetian plaster, but Mortex does not contain epoxy or polyurethane resins and it is waterproof by nature. The plaster is applied using the “a fresco” method, which means the previous layer has not yet fully hardened before the next one is applied. This technique allows all layers to bond together and obtain the highest quality result. The result of this handcrafted process is a textured piece of art with a human touch. *The irregularities, imperfections and color shades that arise after the application of the plaster leaves the signature of the craftsman. This makes each piece unique. The altruistic & humble character of our pieces ensures that they can be used in many different styles, such as contemporary, wabi sabi, japandi, minimalism, brutalism, industrialism, etc. Atelier BB was founded in 2022 by William Baetens and Isabelle Beaumont. The couple designs, develops and produces their pieces in Antwerp, Belgium, where they both grew up. Atelier BB’s designs are distinguished by their simplicity, quality and attention to detail. By using only sustainable materials, they develop pieces that will stand the test of time. Isabelle Beaumont grew up in a family of artists and started her creative adventure very young. From childhood she attended after-school art academy and in high school she logically chose K.S.O. (Art Secondary Education). Isabelle left secondary school with a diploma in Architectural Design, followed by a Master's degree in Interior Architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, supplemented by electives in furniture design and ecological design. *Colour pictures: BM08 Caffe Latte...
