Large Antique English Silver-Plated Coffee Pot Hinged Lid, Ornate Hot Water Pot

Located in Wembley, GB

Antique English Silver-Plated Coffee Pot, Victorian Era, Late 19th Century Tall Cylindrical Form with Hinged Lid and Classical Proportions This exceptional Antique English silver-plated coffee pot, dating to the late 19th century, is a distinguished example of Victorian-era table silver, combining refined craftsmanship with timeless functional elegance. Executed in a tall cylindrical form, the pot features a gracefully articulated pouring spout, a substantial curved handle, and a hinged domed lid fitted with a decorative thumb lift—designed for ease of use while maintaining heat during service. The body is subtly banded and rests on a stepped circular base, lending architectural balance and visual authority. Its clean vertical profile reflects the restrained sophistication of late Victorian design, making it equally suitable as a functional serving vessel or a decorative silver object within curated interiors. Origin & Period Produced in England during the late Victorian period, this coffee pot reflects the high standards of traditional English silversmithing, when silver-plated wares were crafted to serve both domestic households and formal hospitality settings. Such vessels were integral to coffee, tea, and hot water service during formal dining and afternoon tea rituals. The presence of maker’s marks stamped on the upper body confirms its period authenticity and adherence to established English production standards of the era. Design & Decorative Appeal The pot’s design balances practicality and elegance, with a well-proportioned spout for controlled pouring and a hinged lid that opens smoothly while remaining securely attached. The interior of the lid shows concentric turning marks, a characteristic feature of hand-finished silverware from the 19th century. This versatile piece integrates beautifully into: Traditional and period interiors Classic English dining rooms Layered tabletop and sideboard displays Luxury bar or coffee service settings Curated collections of antique silver Its understated form allows it to complement both ornate Victorian silver collections and more minimalist, heritage-inspired interiors. Craftsmanship & Materials Material: Silver-plated metal Technique: Hand-finished Victorian silverwork Construction: Hinged lid, applied handle, stepped base The silver-plated surface displays a soft, even patina, consistent with age and careful use, enhancing the pot’s authenticity and visual depth without diminishing its refined presence. This is not a decorative reproduction, but a genuine antique English silver vessel crafted for long-term use and lasting beauty. Condition Excellent antique condition, with light age-related wear and patina appropriate to its period. The structure remains sound, the hinge operates correctly, and the overall form retains strong definition and balance. Interior Styling & Use This antique coffee pot works beautifully as: A functional coffee or hot water pot A decorative silver accent for dining rooms or bars A statement object in traditional or eclectic interiors A collectible piece within a curated silverware display It pairs effortlessly with linen table settings, crystal glassware, porcelain services, dark wood furniture, and marble or stone surfaces, adding heritage and elegance to any environment. Why This Piece Is Special This Victorian English silver-plated coffee pot represents a timeless fusion of utility, craftsmanship, and understated luxury. Its classic proportions, authentic patina, and refined detailing make it highly appealing to collectors of antique silver, interior designers, and lovers of traditional English decorative arts. More than a serving vessel, it is a decorative object with historical presence, equally suited to daily appreciation or formal display. Late 19th C French Fire Gilt Ormolu Cut Glass Table Box, Attributed to Baccarat

By Baccarat

Located in West Palm Beach, FL

Late 19th Century French Fire-Gilt Ormolu and Cut Crystal Table Casket, Attributed to Baccarat A refined French fire-gilt ormolu and cut crystal table box, dating to the late 19th century and attributed to Baccarat. The rectangular casket is executed in heavy crystal, cut in the pointe de diamant (diamond point) pattern, with a richly faceted surface that sparkles with light. The base is finished with a classic starburst cut (étoile taillée), a hallmark of Baccarat’s precision craftsmanship. The crystal is mounted in finely chased fire-gilt bronze, the band encircling the box decorated with laurel leaf and berry motifs, symbols of victory, eternity, and refinement within the French neoclassical tradition. The lockplate is adorned with a foliate wreath surrounding the keyhole, adding both ornamental and symbolic significance, as the casket was intended to hold cherished personal objects, jewels, or keepsakes. The ormolu mount retains a rich, warm fire gilding, applied by the traditional mercury gilding process, and features a continuous rear hinge—an indicator of the precision fittings used by Baccarat and other leading Parisian luxury workshops of the period. The box opens to a generous interior, ideal for use as a boîte à bijoux (jewel casket), boîte à bonbons (sweetmeat box), or wedding casket...

Napoleonic Architecture Engravings Set, Baltard Paris Monuments Plates - 1803

By Louis-Pierre Baltard

Located in Langweer, NL

Napoleonic Architectural Engravings Set, Baltard Paris Monuments Plates, 1803 This striking set of eight early 19th-century architectural engravings originates from the rare French publication Paris et ses Monuments, mesurés, dessinés et gravés, created by architect and engraver Louis-Pierre Baltard and published in Paris in 1803 during the early Napoleonic period. Baltard’s monumental publication was dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte and aimed to systematically document the architectural treasures of Paris and its surrounding monuments through precise measurement, architectural drawing, and finely executed copperplate engravings. Today the work is regarded as one of the earliest comprehensive visual surveys of Parisian architecture produced during the Napoleonic era. The present group forms a visually balanced and highly decorative set illustrating several aspects of classical and Renaissance architecture. The engravings include façade elevations, architectural plans, ornamental studies, sculptural fragments, and atmospheric architectural views. Together they present a remarkable overview of architectural design, structural composition, and decorative detail typical of the scholarly architectural publications produced in France at the beginning of the nineteenth century. One of the most notable plates in the group shows the measured plan of the Château d’Écouen, one of the most important Renaissance châteaux in France. Built in the sixteenth century for the powerful Montmorency family, the château later became an important national monument and today houses the Musée National de la Renaissance. The engraved plan carefully illustrates the château’s symmetrical layout around its central courtyard together with the surrounding terraces, landscaped grounds, and tree-lined avenues. Other plates depict grand classical façades, monumental arches, richly carved capitals, sculptural ornaments, and picturesque architectural views set within wooded landscapes. Baltard’s engravings are admired for their combination of architectural precision and refined artistic engraving. Crisp linework defines the structural forms, while delicate shading creates depth in the sculptural and landscape elements. Architectural engravings from Paris et ses Monuments have become increasingly desirable among collectors, architects, and interior designers. Their refined balance between scholarly architectural documentation and decorative visual appeal makes them particularly suitable for elegant interiors such as libraries, studies, galleries, or sophisticated European-style homes. Displayed together as a gallery wall, the engravings create a striking architectural ensemble reflecting the intellectual spirit and artistic ambition of the Napoleonic period. The original antique engravings are offered unframed, giving flexibility to select frames that best suit the intended interior. Condition report: Very good condition for early nineteenth-century engravings. Printed on laid paper with wide margins. Light age toning and occasional small spots consistent with age. The engraved impressions remain sharp and clear. Framing tips: These engravings display beautifully as a coordinated wall set. Dark walnut or black frames with generous ivory or warm off-white mats create a refined museum-style presentation. For a more contemporary interior, thin black gallery frames with wide mats highlight the elegant linework and architectural detail. Technique: Copperplate engraving Maker: Louis-Pierre Baltard, Paris, 1803 Keywords: napoleonic architectural engravings, baltard paris monuments 1803, antique french architecture prints...

Ottoman Costume Prints Pair, Imam & Court Official, Hand-Colored 1749 A refined and visually striking pair of 18th-century hand-colored engravings depicting figures from the Ottoman Empire, dated 1749. These elegant costume plates present, on one sheet, an Imam of the Great Mosque, richly dressed in flowing robes with fur trim and a distinctive turban, and on the other, a high-ranking court official or commander, posed with staff and ceremonial attire. Together, they form a beautifully balanced and complementary composition, ideal for display as a decorative pair. The engravings originate from a celebrated European publication documenting Ottoman court life and costume, produced during a period of heightened Western fascination with the East. Each figure is rendered with fine engraved detail and delicately enhanced with original hand color, capturing the textures of luxurious fabrics, the structure of ceremonial garments, and the dignified bearing of the subjects. The generous margins and visible plate marks further emphasize their authenticity and 18th-century origin. What makes this pair particularly desirable is the harmony between the two figures. The Imam, standing frontally with a calm, composed presence, contrasts elegantly with the more dynamic posture of the official figure, who leans slightly and engages the viewer with a sense of authority. The color palette—soft greens, purples, and warm neutrals—works cohesively, making the pair highly suitable for framing and interior placement. These prints are ideal for use as a statement piece above a console, in a study, or within a curated gallery wall. Their subject matter appeals to collectors of Ottoman history, costume prints, and decorative works on paper, while their aesthetic quality makes them equally attractive to interior designers seeking authentic antique elements. Note: Interior mockups shown are for inspiration only. The print is an original antique and is sold unframed. Condition is good for age, with light age toning, scattered spotting, and minor handling wear consistent with 18th-century paper. The sheets retain full margins and show the original plate marks. Colors remain fresh and attractive. Framing suggestions: These prints lend themselves exceptionally well to dark walnut or ebonized frames with wide ivory or warm off-white mats. A symmetrical side-by-side hanging enhances their visual impact, particularly in a refined, warm-toned interior. For a more contemporary setting, a clean gallery-style presentation with generous spacing will highlight their elegance.
