A superb original Japanese Tatekan (2 sheet) film poster for Strangers on a Train, issued for a c1950s Japanese release of Alfred Hitchcock's celebrated thriller. The tall, narrow format gives the design real drama, with Hitchcock's portrait, a glowing railway signal and bold vertical Japanese lettering creating a tense and highly atmospheric composition. It is a wonderful alternative to the more familiar Western campaign artwork and a striking example of Japanese film poster design.
Released in 1951, Strangers on a Train is one of Hitchcock's great suspense films, adapted from the novel by Patricia Highsmith...
