Don Quixote - Resin and Metal Blue Sculpture of Horseman

By Angelo Canevari

Located in New York, NY

Angelo Canevari’s Don Quixote is a 38 x 44 inch mix media sculpture. It is made of metal, resin, blue automotive paint, and cardboard. Angelo Canevari's work is often inspired by classical themes and myths. In this sculpture, he revisited with a modern interpretation the famous character of Don Quixote of La Mancha, in the Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. Almost Baroque in it's curvilinear shape rendered by the interlacing blue lines, the horseman and the horse emanates a superb emotional tension that culminates in the horse's red eye and the horseman's red head. This sculpture is part of a very limited number of works that the artist created at the end of his life. It has been featured in a book written by renowned writer Andrea Camilleri. Angelo Canevari is an Italian sculptor who comes from a long lineage of artists active in Rome since the 17th century. He has been commissioned several works by the Vatican including the Bronze Doors of the Cathedral of Belluno and the Vatican Coins.

By Christopher Adams

Located in New York, NY

Ceramic wall sculpture, organic form, modern decorative art. This unique wall-mounted ceramic piece features an intricate arrangement of hand-formed, petal-like elements that radiate in a starburst or botanical-inspired composition. Finished in a glossy, subtly crackled glaze with earthy tones of gray, taupe, and warm brown, the sculpture adds depth and natural elegance to any interior. Its dynamic form casts gentle shadows, enhancing the sense of movement and dimension. A perfect accent for contemporary, organic modern, or minimalist spaces, this ceramic work brings the beauty of nature into the home through refined craftsmanship. Ready to hang, it works beautifully as a standalone piece or as part of a larger wall...

Leslie Fry, Untitled (Cuffed 2), Pink Fantastical Sculpture Of Female Hand

By Leslie Fry

Located in New York, NY

A 2023 recipient of the Vermont Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, Leslie Fry is represented in this show with fantastical sculptures of female hands, titled the “Cuffed” series. Tensely poised and mannered gestures, inspired by Parmigianino and Caravaggio, cascade into blooms and barnacles, creating a mesmerizing visual dissonance. This elision of romance and rigidity both draws attention to the limitations of the female form and liberates it from the constraints of reality. Leslie Fry’s works have been exhibited internationally at such venues as Kunsthaus in Hamburg, Zwitscher Machine Gallery in Berlin, Hangaram Art Museum in Seoul, Windspiel Galerie in Vienna, Couvent des Cordeliers in Paris, Artists Space and Wave Hill in New York, deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum near Boston, and Centre des Arts Visuels in Montreal. Her public sculptures have been commissioned in New York, South Korea, Montreal, Florida, Wisconsin, and Vermont; public collections include Tufts University, Songchu International Sculpture Park, Freehand New York, Kohler Arts Center, Tampa Museum of Art, Fleming Museum of Art, Musée d’art de Joliette, and St. Petersburg, Florida’s Museum of Fine Arts. Fry’s M.F.A. is from Bard College, and her B.A. is from the University of Vermont, with a Foundation year at the Central School of Art in London. She currently lives and works in Winooski, VT. Artist Statement: #1 My hands reach, touch, and shape. Hands let go and receive; they try to hold things and to hold things together. Some of my images of hands are derived from Mannerist paintings by Parmigianino and Caravaggio, and are ink-washed onto vintage tablecloths...

Love Wins - Rainbow glass pill sculpture

Love Wins - Rainbow glass pill sculpture

By Edie Nadelhaft

Located in East Quogue, NY

Limited edition rainbow colored glass pill sculpture. Edition of 9. Signed and numbered on the back by the artist. The piece is equipped with a D-ring on the back for easy hanging. "Love Wins" is part of Edie Nadelhaft's "Better Living Thru Chemistry: Luv is the Drug" sculpture series consisting of candy-colored glass and mixed media capsule-shaped objects. Each pill is festooned with text messages, social media iconography and the language of pop psychology. Inspired in equal parts by the ubiquitous presence of social media in contemporary culture and the simultaneous rise of direct - to - consumer pharmaceutical marketing. The work pokes fun at the alternately amusing and depressing correlations between the two phenomena as both are enlisted to oversimplify the human condition and expedite contentment through a familiar cocktail of instant gratification and seductive packaging. Edie Nadelhaft is a New York-based painter and mixed media artist whose work has been widely exhibited at museums, art fairs and galleries. She studied painting and art history at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and S.U.N.Y. Purchase. She received her BFA with Honors from The Massachusetts College of Art & Design.
