This piece is best worn against bare skin or dark-colored clothing, which allows the piece to create contrast with the high polish and displays the intricacy of the design. Hook can clasp onto any of the end links, allowing adjustment from 19.5"–22"L.
Bio
Julie Lake hand fabricates her metal work exclusively from a spring tempered, fine gauge stainless steel. She uses an arc welding process at precise settings to join the metal by melting and fusing it together at the tiny joints. The nature of this stainless steel, along with the welding process, allows Lake to create complex and visually fragile, yet deceptively strong forms with very small diameter wires.
Although the welding of steel is typically regarded as an industrial process, Lake likens her technique to the domestic act of sewing or knitting. By way of welding, she methodically and repetitively stitches together the threads of stainless steel which accumulate into larger forms. Her decision to only create with this very specific material is quite minimalistic, but Lake engages with the material with multidisciplinary intent. Her work spans from large scale art installation, to design-driven functional items, to wearable and decorative pieces rooted in fine craft. This multidisciplinary approach allows the individual pieces to cross-pollinate with and inform each other.

After completing his studies at the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts in Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Jorge Borrás moved to France1.
His works, especially his bronzes, are sold in major auctions mainly in France (Versailles, Drouot, Saint Germain En Laye, Enghien les Bains, etc. June 30, 1992, two bronzes were sold at Christie's in London) 2. They are exhibited in Parisian salons such as the Salon d'automne3, the Salon des artistes français, the Salon des Independants the exhibitions of the National Society of Fine Arts, the Salon de l'école française [ref. necessary].
He received the Arts-Sciences-Lettresn 1 Medal and is a member of the International Association of Visual Arts (affiliated with UNESCO).
In addition, he produced a series of medals and sculptures for the Monnaie de Paris, and various achievements such as the bust of Dr. Coll Colomé, a monument erected in Benicarlo (Spain) and publishing covers including the novel by Jean-Marc Roberts Vincent's friend.
The work of Jorge Borrás is a tribute to the woman [ref. necessary]. Her favorite themes are ballerinas and bathers as well as women in everyday attitudes. Hugh Holborn is that rare kind of craftsman who is also an auteur in his own right. He started his journey when he was 12 as an apprentice for New Mexico sculptor Jim Martin. From there he went on to study his craft at the American College of Building Art. He brings industrial materials such as steel, iron and salvaged metals to life as metallic marine life, honoring the aquatic creatures around which he lives. Growing up between the New England islands and Florida, Holborn feels blessed to have always lived boating on and swimming in the waters that now inspire his metalwork. Memories from diving and fishing are important parts of his life, yet with climate changed and increased environmental concerns he also recognizes his experience with the ocean as impermanent.
Holborn now lives in St. Augustine, Florida with his girlfriend and their newborn twin daughters. His artwork has given him a sense of self reliance and environmental stewardship—being able to craft functional items for his own home and doing so in a way he knows is environmentally conscious. He plans to keep creating art using historical methods, and wants to keep those methods alive by teaching them to new craftsman...

Following the fire she relocated to San Francisco, where she spent a decade concentrating on her art in her studio in SOMA and exhibiting at galleries in the Bay Area. In 2015 she returned to San Diego and now works out of her studio in La Jolla, exhibiting there and in Los Angeles.
Kat Flyn refers to herself as an Assemblage Sculptor and her works as Political Art or Protest Art. She separates herself from other assemblage artists in that she only employs “saved” as opposed to “found” objects in her work; and her pieces always have a political or cultural narrative to them rather than being surreal or abstract.
