Following his studies, Casarrubios settled in the Valle del Tiétar region, near the Gredos Mountains in Ávila, Spain. The extraordinary natural landscape of this area, with its mountains, valleys, rivers and warm atmospheric light, became an important source of inspiration for his artistic development. His work encompasses two distinctive yet complementary artistic directions: colorful Impressionist and Expressionist landscapes executed primarily in oil, and contemporary geometric compositions exploring simplified forms, symbolism and spatial relationships. Casarrubios acknowledges the influence of important Spanish painters, including Joaquín Sorolla, Ignacio Pinazo, Hermenegildo Anglada-Camarasa and Joaquín Agrasot. Their sensitivity to Mediterranean light, expressive color and naturalistic subjects is reflected in his distinctive approach to painting. Since 1991, he has been associated with the Canati Group, an artistic collective dedicated particularly to landscape painting. His exhibition career includes presentations at the Parque del Retiro in Madrid, the Centro de Arte Julián Simón in Toledo, Galería Altea in Madrid and international exhibitions in the United States. Notably, his work was exhibited at the John David Mooney Foundation in Chicago in 2000 and Galería Gaudí in Chicago in 2001, demonstrating his international artistic presence.
