Ashanti Stools

This fine Ashanti stool from Ghana, which dates to the first half of the 20th century, features an unusual motif - a bird of prey.

This abstract stool was carved from one single piece of wood and has been used in the grasslands for decades. It was most likely the stool of a Queen.
