Traditional Wooden Carved African Elephant Stool by the Ashanti Tribe Ghana
About the Item
Authentic African carved wooden elephant stool. Originates from the Ashanti Tribe of Ghana. It is of traditional form with the elephant stood on a flat base with a curved seat on his back. It is excellent quality and the detail of carving around his face and tail are lovely. Asante stools are a well-known piece of art in the Akan culture, they are carved from a single block of wood.
It is in good vintage condition for its age and has a lovely patina.
