Picture a sapphire. If the stone you conjure is a deep cornflower blue, you’re seeing only part of the picture. Ask for videos and visuals: When transacting with a gem dealer online, you should always request real-time videos and photographs, since professional photos of a stone, usually on a white background, have likely been retouched for optimal presentation.
