Denis Ribas Art
French, b. 1954
A proud Catalan he strictly paints outdoors on site using bright textured palette applied directly on linen canvas of the highest quality – manually nailed, stretched and coated. The paint itself is made in accordance with multi-centenary techniques.
His early works was created in impressionism style. Throughout the years the artist has succeeded in inventing his own style of luminous and textured paintings. Denis Ribas favorite subject matter is Provence and the landscapes of Ceret, his own hometown.
Artist states that he makes a painting without message “It is impression and incredible strength of Mother Nature that seduces me” his simple expressionist landscape paintings symbolize strength and security we are all longing for in our lives.

Artist Biography:
Born in 1954 in Perpignan, Denis Ribas draws inspiration from his Catalan heritage and a childhood infused with his father's passion for nature. Painting exclusively outdoors, Ribas uses pure linen canvas, manually nailed, stretched, and coated. The paint itself adheres to multi-centenary techniques, with supplies sourced from Bruno Charvin's workshop, Denis Ribas' preferred and exclusive supplier. Notably, a yellow hue in the palette has been christened "Jaune Ribas."
The thickly applied paint and the expansive color palette harmonize to create a captivating piece of contemporary art. Each painting is a single, uninterrupted creation, reflecting Ribas' commitment to never altering a finished piece—a testament to the spontaneity and authenticity of his artistic process.

On a summer morning in 1993 a 22 years old young came to Florida from a small old town in the central area of Cuba called Santa Clara. In his bag, he brought no more than two valuable things, his worn-out brushes and a great dream. The dream to one day become a professional artist in this new land that welcomed him with open arms.
Captivated by his love for the beauty of the Landscapes, his last works are what he sees even in the most common scenes: the close relationship of life and who we are with the natural world around us that asks us to respect and care for it.
Artist Statement:
" I like to scrutinize in the simple things, sometimes it is there where the lost painting is waiting to be found by the painter's eyes.
The landscape painting gives me the opportunity to establish a close relationship with the natural world and humbly capture on a canvas a little of its beauty listening to its voice that reminds us how valuable we are and how much we should love it".
