This elegant set of eight antique plates was crafted in France, circa 1870. Each hand painted plate with French wording illustrates a scene depicting the "life of a soldier". All called "La Vie de Soldat", each scene shows what soldier is able do achieve from ploughing to storyteller, to horse rider. Each plate signed Gien on the bottom.
