Philippe Gabriel Paintings
Philippe Gabriel is a French painter, born in 1963. He graduated from Beaux-Arts in Saint Etienne. His main sources of inspiration are advertising, cinema and video. Gabriel wanted to put down roots in a contemporary practice, belonging to the narrative figuration current. This movement saw the light of the day in the 60s in France, the artists focused their research and work on contemporary society. Interior and exterior scenes, Gabriel's paintings portray amazing light, which is realistic at times along with strong contrasts and chiaroscuro. One can notice softness and melancholy in his female figures.
