These exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver asparagus server tongs have a rectangular rounded shaped form. The surface of the blades are embellished with a impressive bright cut engraved simplified scrolling leaf decoration with a suspended leaf festoon accented with a central floral motif. The plain tapering handle is embellished with an applied reed bordered stylised bud motif, reflecting a classic King's shape design. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English straight sterling silver Old English pattern flatware set / service for six persons; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection. The pieces of this exceptional, antique George V straight sterling silver flatware service for six persons have been crafted in the Old English pattern. The anterior surface of each fork handle and the reverse surface of each spoon handle features a pip to the terminal. Each spoon, including the sauce ladle, bears a plain rounded heel to the reverse of the bowl. This antique silver cutlery canteen consists of 55 pieces: Basic service: Six table knives. Six table forks. Six table spoons. Six soup spoons. Six dessert knives. Six dessert forks. Six dessert spoons. Six teaspoons. Six coffee spoons. Additional pieces: Sauce ladle. The fundamental pieces of this antique silver cutlery set have been crafted by Sheffield silversmiths Atkin Brothers, apart from the table and dessert knives, which are replacements. The anterior and posterior surface of the coffee spoons retain the original gilding to the bowls. These impressive examples of antique silverware are supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing.
