The surface of this silver teapot is embellished with flat engraved foliate and floral decoration to the upper portion.

The upper rim of the body is ornamented with a shaped band of scalloped simplified leaf designs.
This antique silver teapot is fitted with a hallmarked, domed flush hinged cover surmounted with an impressive and original, cast sterling silver tiered floral bud style finial; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece.
The cover is further ornamented with flat chased foliate designs to the rim and encircling the lower portion of the finial.
This exceptional example of antique teaware retains the original cast C-shaped handle featuring a scrolling leaf thumbpiece; this leaf design continues to the upper socket.
