Green Glass Fisherman’s Float, c. 1900

Green Glass Fisherman’s Float, c. 1900

Located in Chicago, IL

This beautiful green sphere is an early 20th century glass float used by fishermen to keep their fishing nets or droplines afloat in the ocean. The hollow float would have been encased by a rope netting and used just like a modern buoy. Because these floats were commonly produced from recycled bottles, most antique glass floats...

Nike Murano Glass sculpture

By Roberto Beltrami

Located in Murano, VE

An homage to one of the symbols of Hellenic culture, inspired by the famous Nike of Samothrace sculpture exhibited at the Louvre in Paris. The figure of the winged woman is wrapped in a light cloth that flows in the wind and adheres to the body of the young goddess. The mastery of the artwork’s reinterpretation in glass lies in the fluidity with which Roberto Beltrami uses a mix of blowing and solid techniques to sculpt the artwork and coat it with ethereal layers of blown molten glass, reengineering the look of the classic sculpture to adapt it to a modern feel. By reengineering the sculpture's appearance and infusing it with contemporary sensibilities, the artwork bridges the gap between the past and the present. The blue Nike...

PH Grand Piano PH170 Curated, Mineral Leather, White Oak and Burned Brass
PH Grand Piano PH170 Curated, Mineral Leather, White Oak and Burned Brass

PH Grand Piano PH170 Curated, Mineral Leather, White Oak and Burned Brass

By Poul Henningsen

Located in Copenhagen, DK

This offer comes from ToneArt / PH Pianos, which is the official holder of the license from the Poul Henningsen family to produce and sell authentic PH Pianos exclusively and worldwide. All prices are ex works but we have extensive experience in worldwide delivery and installment, including “white glove delivery”. All our authentic PH Pianos are crafted inhouse and according to original design and true craftsmanship traditions. We are a Danish company, based in Copenhagen, and we have a big showroom in the very heart of Copenhagen with the full collection of all PH Pianos as well as the Poul Henningsen furniture collection that we also hold the exclusive license for. We value and apply Danish, Scandinavian and Nordic values in everything we do, including reliability, full transparency and trustworthy communication! - 5-Year guarantee. - We regularly crate, ship, and install PH Pianos worldwide with full insurance. This spectacular PH Grand Piano Curated Edition is the first of its kind. It has been created in collaboration with Stevns Klint Experience, a UNESCO heritage site located an hour away from Copenhagen, Denmark. The materials and finishes of this piano have been completely customized to represent key elements of the Stevns Klint Experience geography. From the leather banding, to the type and finish of the wood, to the metal trimming on the case, this piano is very special. More than Just a Piano- Finishes with Symbolism The mineral-colored leather banding of this piano represents the Fish Clay found in the chalk cliffs of Stevns Klint. Fish Clay is the layer of gray clay which contains meteorite particulate, and is scientific proof of the collision 55 million years ago of a meteor with Earth, that ended almost all life including the dinosaurs. Hand-carved beautiful ash-wood frames the delicate and elegant transparent lid, and all metal trim has been done in a semi-matte oxidized brass finish called Burned Brass. All materials and finishes combine to create an extremely elegant, aesthetically stunning-yet approachable- piano. Stevns Klint Experience has provided four fossils from the site which have been set into the frame of the piano, making this instrument a true collector’s piece. Original Design, Unique Customization Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1930, the PH Grand Piano is an iconic design from Denmark that has captured the attention of art collectors everywhere. As a Curated Edition, this instrument is the first of its kind to use a piano action...

Etling Car Mascot Naked Woman Sculpture in Opalescent Molded Glass

By Edmond Etling

Located in NANTES, FR

Naked woman with long hair, creation of Mrs. Lucille Sevin in 1932. Signed Etling France In perfect condition Measures: Height: 22.5cm Diameter: 6.2cm Weight: 700 Grams Lucille Sévin is a French sculptor, active from 1920 to 1940. Lucille Sévin made many chryselephantine sculptures in the Art Deco style, using materials such as bronze, silver or gold, and ivory. His work was skillfully implemented and distributed by art publisher Edmond Etling. For a time, Sévin was artistic director of the Etling company. Her husband, the sculptor Jean Théodore Delabassé, also worked for Etling. Sévina also worked with glass, ceramics and porcelain. Her sculptures of dancers in frosted and iridescent milky glass like Isadora Duncan of 1925 were made for Etling in a glass factory in Choisy-le-Roi. Sévin exhibited at the Salon of the Society of French Artists in Paris and became a member of the Society. Lucille Sévin won the bronze medal in 1932 and the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris 1937. She also exhibited her works at the Society of the Salon d'Automne in Paris. Edmond Laurent Etling (before 1909 – around 1940) was a French art dealer, gallery owner, designer, and a manufacturer of high-quality decorative objects made of bronze, ceramics and art glass in the Art Deco style. He owned La Societe Anonyme Edmond Etling (English: Edmond Etling Limited Company) for manufacturing, his foundry was named Edmond Etling & Cie, and sometimes the products are referred to as "Etling Glass...
