A carved soapstone Raj period Indian study of elephants and two Maharajas C1910
A carved soapstone Raj period Indian study of elephants and two Maharajas C1910

A carved soapstone Raj period Indian study of elephants and two Maharajas C1910

Located in Central England, GB

A fine Indian Raj period carved soapstone study of a large elephant carrying two Maharajas and their guide seated high on its back in an elaborate carriage surrounded by a group of young elephants. This superb carving shows great skill from the highly proficient craftsman who has deeply carved and pierced the study with three dimensional detailing. Indian, circa 1910 Height 21cm x width 11cm x depth 9cm Thank you for looking at this unusual hand carved soapstone elephant...
