Monumental Amphora Art Nouveau Bowl w/Saurian by Eduard Stellmacher & Co.

By Eduard Stellmacher

Located in Palm Beach, FL

Model #13 Eduard Stellmacher and Co, Porzellanfabrik und Kunstkeramische Industriewerke Driven to establish a new company that produced luxury porcelain and ceramic items based on his own aesthetic aspirations, Stellmacher left Amphora when the workshop was at its most prosperous, in 1904. Together with entrepreneur Karl Frank, who provided the financial backing, he founded Ed. Stellmacher & Co. in Turn-Teplitz in 1905. From the outset, Stellmacher worked hard to achieve a major position among other high-end ceramic art producers. He believed the success of the company would depend on his products of “appropriate methods and unerring quality, perfect from both the technical and artistic sides”. Stellmacher based his first collection on artistically progressive products, pieces he believed would be in high demand. The greater part of the designs were either large vases complemented with sculptures of fantastic dragons or natural animals. With this series, Stellmacher continued the themes he had created for Amphora from 1899-1902, however, his naturalistic renderings of animals was even more elaborately precise. He developed a special ceramic material called refined earthenware, which minimized the shrinkage that was common during firing and allowed for greater preservation of details in the original models. Unfortunately, by 1905, contrary to Stellmacher’s plans, there was little to no demand for objects of this type. Very few pieces exist today as very few were originally produced. Even after redirecting the company to produce commercial goods Stellmacher still could not ward off the company’s demise. By 1910 the Stellmacher & Co. fell into bankruptcy and was liquidated. Antique Swedish Gustavian Rococo Giltwood Wall Clock, Stockholm Circa:1900s

Located in Wembley, GB

Antique Swedish Gustavian Rococo Giltwood Wall Clock, Stockholm, Circa 1900 This exceptional antique Gustavian wall clock is a refined example of Swedish Rococo craftsmanship, dating to circa 1900 and retaining its original working mechanical movement. Hand-carved and richly gilded, this elegant wall clock embodies the restrained opulence and architectural balance that define Gustavian decorative arts, making it a timeless statement for curated interiors. The clock features a beautifully sculpted giltwood case, adorned with classical Rococo floral carvings, laurel swags, ribbon bows, and finely modelled ornamental details. The symmetrical composition is anchored by turned columns, a decorative shelf base, and a graceful ribbon crest, all finished in warm, luminous gold leaf that enhances both traditional and contemporary spaces. The circular dial, set within a beaded gilt surround, displays clear Arabic numerals and original hands, offering visual harmony and legibility. Below, the pendulum aperture and architectural elements add depth and sculptural presence, allowing the clock to function as both a decorative wall sculpture and a functional timepiece. Measuring approximately 54 cm in height, this piece is ideally scaled for use in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, libraries, dining rooms, stairwells, and refined interior settings. It works beautifully as a feature wall clock, a decorative focal point, or a collector’s object within classic, neoclassical, Scandinavian, Parisian, or eclectic interiors. Origin & Period Origin: Sweden, Stockholm Period: Circa 1900 Style: Gustavian / Rococo Revival This clock reflects Sweden’s late Gustavian tradition, where French Rococo influences were interpreted with Nordic restraint, symmetry, and elegance. Pieces of this quality were produced for refined domestic interiors and remain highly sought after by collectors of European decorative arts, antique clocks, and giltwood furnishings. Craftsmanship & Materials Hand-carved giltwood case Original mechanical movement (tested and working) Traditional gilding with rich patina Finely detailed floral, ribbon, and laurel motifs Each element demonstrates exceptional artisanal skill, with hand-carved details and proportional harmony typical of museum-quality Scandinavian decorative objects. Condition Very good antique condition The mechanism was tested and functioning well The surface displays authentic age-related patina consistent with the period. No functional guarantee is included, which is standard for antique clocks. Styling & Interior Appeal This antique Swedish wall clock...

Marvelous Pair of 19th C. French Ormolu Four Arm Candelabras, Signed P. Canaux

By Paul Canaux and Company 1

Located in New York, NY

A Marvelous Pair of 19th century French Ormolu Four-Arm Candelabras, Signed Paul Canaux. Paul Canaux was an incredible jeweler and silversmith, and would produce his pieces in 30 rue des Francs-Bourgeois in Paris. He originally worked for the great silversmith and plater Joseph Mégemond. Following his career with Mégemond on August 9th, 1888 he placed his own hallmark. He was a made an array of products, which included silverware, cutlery, tea sets, centerpieces, candelabras as well as many other silver and gilt-bronze objects of the highest quality. His maker’s hallmark was struck in 1892 and they changed the name to "Paul Canaux et Cie". In the 5 Generations of our business, these are some of the greatest candelabras we have ever had the pleasure of adding to our collection. This is truly an exceptional pair of candelabras. They were produced by P. Canaux, a master silversmith who made the most wonderful and outstanding pieces of silver and ormolu. These ormolu candelabras are no exception with a variety of hand-chased and hand-chiseled motifs which elevate these pieces to a different level of quality and craftsmanship. The top most finial of each candelabra is absolutely marvelous with a phoenix emerging from a cauldron of flames. Flanked on either end of each candelabra are two satyrs each holding up a candelabra arm with superior quality, each wrinkle in their faces and hair on their heads is visible. Between the candelabras is a basket of ormolu cast fruits, leaves, and vines. They are truly breathtaking and in high-relief against the main body of the candelabras. The other two candelabra arms are held up by Nereus, the Greek GD of the sea. He is known for his half-man, half-dolphin appearance with a majestic and highly detailed pair of angelic wings...

Two Early 19th Century French Empire Gilt Bronze Candelabra

Two Early 19th Century French Empire Gilt Bronze Candelabra

Located in London, GB

These magnificent candelabra were cast entirely of gilt bronze in the French Empire period of the early 19th century. Each candelabrum is formed as a cornucopia of scrolled branches holding four lights with drip pans, set on a single torch-form stem, held aloft by a Classical style figure. The figures, one male and one female, are shown draped in swathed clothing, with the male figure depicted holding a quill in his other hand, whilst the female figure clutches a delicate bouquet of flowers. The figures stand upon circular bases, set onto ovoid vases which featured fluted details and central bands of laurel leaf motifs. The vases themselves stand on undulating roundels formed of acanthus leaves, which are further set atop square-form plinths. Classically influenced works were popular during the French Empire period, when the Emperor Napoleon I sought to create a place in history for France alongside the ancient dynasties...

Pair of Royal Worcester Style Hand-Crafted Porcelain Vases, Austrian
Pair of Royal Worcester Style Hand-Crafted Porcelain Vases, Austrian

Pair of Royal Worcester Style Hand-Crafted Porcelain Vases, Austrian

By Royal Worcester

Located in Miami, FL

A superb pair of vases made in the manner of Royal Worcester pieces that were made around 1890. These vases are uniquely shaped and have a blush ivory Japanese lotus decoration. This style was influenced by the wonderful Persian artefacts that found their way to Britain and that soon became an influence on British design. You can see the finely carved and reticulated shapes on the surface of the neck of the vases. The decoration on the body of the vase is done in the "blush ivory" style, which became popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century. This was based on the Art Nouveau movement in Europe and Aesthetic Movement in Britain, creating designs based on natural shapes rather than the familiar ornamental shapes from the Victorian times. The production process was complex; items received a glossy glaze on the inside, and a matt glaze on the outside. Colors were achieved by spraying an apricot-colored glaze near the rims with the newly invented "aerograph machine" - this was one of the first examples of air brushing. Eye catching Pair of Austrian Hand-Crafted Porcelain Vases will enhance any setting. Each measures: 8" High x 4 1/2" Wide x 4" Deep Outstanding Pair of Royal Austrian...
