Daisy Makeig-Jones Wedgwood Powder Blue Fish Bowl

About the Item

A powder blue bone china bowl designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones for Wedgwood circa 1915, beautifully decorated with a school of swimming fish. This stunning powder blue fish bowl is an homage to Daisy Makeig-Jones’s beginnings at Wedgwood. In 1912, during her training, the factory successfully created the stippled blue glazing technique that covers this pot’s surface. Makeig-Jones’s own early fish designs accent this Wedgwood powder blue bow to create an object of whimsy and delight. Dimensions: 9 3/4 in. Dm x 4 in. H Condition: Excellent. Some very minor gilt wear to a few fish in the center. Provenance: The Collection of Dr. Ellis F. Rubin and Suzanne Borow Rubin
