A magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver Armada jug; part of our wine and drinks related silverware collection This magnificent antique Victorian English sterling silver Armada jug has an elongated pear-shaped form onto a circular pedestal foot. The cylindrical neck of the silver claret jug is embellished with exceptional cast and chased floral and scrolling foliate decoration, all on a matte background. The underside of the pouring lip bears an exceptional shield shaped cartouche displaying a dove with wings extended holding in the claw a branch; all surmounted with a scrolling leaf mantling. The knopped neck is further ornamented with a volute scrolling border flanked with plain bands, to a swept portion encircled with pensile bud designs. The decoration to the body incorporates two large scrolling leaf bordered vacant cartouches, each surmounted with a coronet design embellished with floral ornamentation. Each cartouche is further embellished with a chased figural mask design to the nadir, flanked with large floral motifs. Either side of each cartouche is embellished with an exceptional cast and applied three-dimensional winged mermaid and mermen, gesturing towards the aforementioned coronet. The decoration to the body is further embellished with large scrolling leaf and floral sprays incorporating a cast and applied protruding leopard's head to the anterior portion. This magnificent London silver claret jug retains the original hinged cover, ornamented with chased scrolling leaf decoration and surmounted with an impressive cast and applied opposing scrolling loop finial. This exceptional antique Victorian silver jug is fitted with a cast sterling silver scrolling handle embellished with further foliate decoration to the handpiece. The handle incorporates a lever function to the interior of the handpiece; once depressed this opens/elevates the cover. The domed circular pedestal foot is embellished with alternating chased arch decoration incorporating further floral and foliate designs on a matte background. An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Edward VIII sterling silver serving waiters - boxed; an addition to our silver tray, salver and platter collection These exceptional antique Edward VIII sterling silver serving waiters have a hexagonal form, in the classic early 18th century style. The surfaces of these antique silver waiters are embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a dragon. The fine and impressive raised borders are ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the rims. The impressive pair of sterling silver waiters are each supported by four cast button style feet. Each serving waiter is fitted with an exceptional cast silver handle, comprised of a circular handpiece to a scrolling bracket style terminal in junction with the aforementioned plain rim. These exceptional waiters are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, secured with a push fit catch. A fine and impressive, large antique cut-glass and Austro-Hungarian silver mounted lemonade/water jug; an addition to our wine and drink related collection. This exceptional antique Austro-Hungarian silver and cut glass water / lemonade silver jug has a tapering cylindrical form. The neck is fitted with a fine and impressive substantial silver hallmarked mount with the original hallmarked flat hinged cover and plain swept lobed thumb piece. The cover is further embellished with the impressive contemporary engraved initials 'SC' below a coronet. This antique cut glass lemonade jug is fitted with a plain angular S scroll handle with bracketed curved terminals. The large glass body of the jug is ornamented with a dimpled effect in addition to a star cut motif to the underside of the base. The hallmarks struck to the surface of the impressive mount include: Importer/Retailer's mark: Bachruch (Antal Bachruch) Assay mark: P (Pest, Hungary) Silver quality/purity mark: Dianakopf mark (.800, 800/1000) Condition The mount of this antique lemonade jug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. The surface of this vintage silver goblet has a subtly planished finish. The body of the goblet is further ornamented with three impressive cast and applied leaf designs, emanating and conjoining with the plain waisted stem. The plain domed circular foot features an impressive tiered arrangement.
