Rare Emaux de Longwy Ceramic Boule Vase by Garouste and Bonetti Limited 1 of 5
Located in Miami, FL
This Boule vase “Ornament “ is a rare limited edition numbered 1/5 by Elizabeth Garouste was born in 1949 in Paris and Mattia Bonetti in 1952 in Lugano (Switzerland). They pooled their work from 1980 to dedicate themselves to the creation of pieces of furniture and interior decoration. They start with the decoration of the Palace that Fabrice Eamer asks them to design. Then shortly after, the Néotu Gallery publishes them. Their furniture, baroque and barbarian, surprises, made up of heterogeneous and unusual materials, such as rock, hammered bronze, raffia, leather, skin, logs and glass ... They are at the instigation of fashion "barbaric". For their work, they use references such as the Middle Ages, Africa, through the poetry of Cocteau, the Venetian baroque and neoclassicism. They have also been edited by the “Waiting for the Barbarians” galleries, David Gill, Kréo, Lou Fagotin...

Photo Frame Art Deco Style Black and White Enamel Sterling Silver Salimbeni
Located in Firenze, FI
Black with white milk design Rectangular photo frame in 800/1000 silver gold plated with fire enamels. External cm. 13.4 x 17.4 Internal cm. 9 x 13. Weight gr. 199. Created in Art Deco style for Cartier USA in the 1980s, inspired by drawings by Louis Cartier from the early 1900s. Made in Florence in the Salimbeni company headquarters with completely manual execution by artisan artists with thick and thick slabs reinforcements suitable for supporting numerous high-fire enamelled firings at approximately 750° < 800° C. About cooperation Salimbeni and Cartier. Our first meetings with the Cartier USA Company took place through the Giorgini Company, the first "Buying Office" set up in Florence immediately after the Second World War, which had the purpose of bringing together Florentine, and also Italian, producers with American buyers, who especially appreciated the artistic objects still manufactured by artisans who still took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance, using techniques handed down from generation to generation. Mrs. Gina Pestelli, wife of a Florentine retail jeweller, was in charge of contacts with Cartier USA, above all an employee, while her daughter, also for Giorgini, took care of the fashion that in those years was affirmed in Florence with the events of "Pitti ". With their help, we began to supply frames and boxes in sterling silver gold plated with malachite and other semi-precious stones. At the same time, the official buyer of Cartier, Mr. William Smith, began to appreciate and commission the first objects with fired enamels, a process of which we have always been specialists. In 1975 we began exhibiting at the prestigious New York Jewellery Association Show, which we participated in both the February and July editions, for a good 26 years until 2001. In New York in those years the "Art deco style" was still very much appreciated, still mindful of the beautiful early 20th century architecture of the great buildings such as the "Crysler" or the "Empire State". We then began to produce frames, boxes, evening bags, "objets de vertu" and other objects in "art deco style" which were very popular with Mr. Smith who gave us some photocopies of Louis Francois Cartier drawings to reproduce them. Thus, numerous cigarette cases, powder compacts, evening bags, frames and table boxes were created exclusively for Cartier USA which, at the time, had the prestigious "Silver Department" on the first floor of the Cartier store on Fifth Avenue. An evening bag, with matching cigarette case and powder compact, were redone on the design created for a gift given to Mary Pickford at the time. In a 1986 Cartier...

Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case Vienna
Located in Newark, England
Hallmarked From our Silver collection, we are delighted to offer this Art Nouveau Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case from Vienna, Austria. The Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case of stunning Art Nouveau design with a central enamel scene depicting the legend of St. Hubert, Patron Saint of hunters with the divine deer. The scene features St. Hubert in the foreground dressed much like the later Robin Hood with feathered cap carrying a cross bow. In the background the divine deer stands on a river bank with long antlers portraying a crucifix between them amongst foliage and trees. The Scene flanked by Art Nouveau design upon a Silver case with push button thumb tab. The interior of the Cigarette Case is finished in silver-gilt with an inscription to the left hand side reading Mr et Mdme. Dr Groedel Hietzing 20/VII 1900. (20/07/1900). The Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case is hallmarked twice on the thumb tab, once below the ‘1900’ and twice on the right hand side of the inner case. The last hallmarks feature an illegible makers mark however it is clear that the hallmarks show the hexagonal Dianakopf (Diana’s head) mark showing the silver is .900 fineness and dated to between 1872-1922 inline with the inscription date of 1900. Dianakopf (Diana’s Head) was first used in 1867 the cartouche shape and number within indicate the silver fineness. Beginning in 1872, a letter was added to indicate city of assay. The hallmark comes in varied shapes depending on the year and fineness. Hietzing is the 13th municipal District of Vienna. It is located west of the central districts, west of Meidling. Hietzing is a heavily populated urban area with many residential buildings but also contains large areas of the Vienna Woods, along with Schönbrunn Palace. St. Hubert The legend of St. Hubert holds that on a Good Friday morning, while the faithful were in church, Hubert was hunting in the forest. As he pursued a magnificent stag or hart, the animal turned and Hubert was astounded to see a crucifix floating between its antlers. He heard a voice saying: “Hubert unless thou turnest to the Lord and leadest a holy life, thou shalt quickly go down into Hell.” Hubert dismounted and prostrated himself, and after asking “Lord, what wouldst thou have me do?” is told, “Go and seek Lambert, and he will instruct you.” The story of the stag first appears in one of the later legendary hagiographies (Bibliotheca hagiographic Latina, nos. 3994–4002) and has been appropriated from the legend of Saint Eustace...

With more decisive and geometric features than Art Nouveau, therefore more evident and "harder", with always contrasting and strong colours, Art Deco spread throughout the world, from Shanghai's China to the under construction New York and in various parts of Europe. Many artists and designers of the time dedicated themselves to the creation of drawings, paintings, objects for personal use and furniture, interior furnishings, entire buildings and skyscrapers, in this new style. Vintage Miniature Glass Perfume Bottle Lot Discontinued Scents Some French VTG o
Located in New Orleans, LA
This would make a fantastic gift for a perfume/bottle collector. Vintage perfumes remind us of good times that are gone. The exciting smell of fragrances that are no longer available, the sensual attraction that caught back in the days the attention of the other sex. All that is left now are these bottles that our loved ones got as presents and left to open for later. Memories of better times... God knows how life could have changed, had they used these wonderful attractors at the right time. Marriages could have been forged or destroyed. The power of perfumes comes close to that of religion. There are century old bibles of perfume, production, selection and use. Worth Frosted Star Lalique Perfume Bottle. Cigarette Case fired Enamel stripes in Art Deco style Sterling Silver Salimbeni
Located in Firenze, FI
Large rectangular table box with long rounded sides in 925/1000 sterling silver with fire-enamelled stripes in Art Deco style. With “lost” hinge, i.e. semi-invisible. Dimensions cm. 10.5 x 15 x 2.3. Weight gr. 548. Inspired by drawings by Louis Cartier from the early 1900s in Art Deco style and recreated for Cartier USA in the 1980s, manufactured in Florence in the Salimbeni company headquarters with completely manual execution by artisan artists with thick and thick slabs reinforcements suitable for supporting numerous high-fire enamelled firings at about 800° C. In a 1986 Cartier catalogue...
