19th Century Bohemian Ruby Cased Gilt and Enameled Cut Art Glass Decanter

About the Item

A brilliant Bohemian ruby cased and polychrome enameled cut glass decanter with stopper from the 19th century. Exquisitely handcrafted and detailed for the Islamic market, having Middle Eastern design influence, with an elongated steeple-form stopper resting in a ring neck, the cut and shaped body gilded and painted red and gold with small flowers, geometric patterns and intricate designs. A magnificent example of original antique Bohemian art glass. Dimensions (approx): 19 5/8" H, 5.5" D, 4.75lbs Excellent condition. Bottom drilled. Expected wear, minor chips, gilt loss commensurate with age.
