About the Item

Original low stool or tabouret, well known as the Berger Stool, designed by Charlotte Perriand. Inspired by pastoral mountain life, the design makes use of typical materials found in the Alps. Exquisitely handcrafted using traditional woodworking techniques, as seen in the tapered legs and beautiful joinery details. The typical connection, used to turning the wood seat, is found underneath. Honest aging and patina to the wood are present in our example. Acquired together with other fine examples of the designer’s work, from a European collection. Literature: Charlotte Perriand Complete Works Volume 2: 1940-1955. Measures: 12.5” Diameter 10.5” High.
