French Vintage Framed Portrait of a Lady and Roses, Signed

Located in Baton Rouge, LA

A vintage French tribute painting inspired by "The Broken Vessel" (La Cruche cassée) originally painted by Jean-Baptiste Greuze circa 1771, now held at the Louvre in Paris. Before that it was part of the personal collection of the Comtesse du Barry until the French Revolution. Depicted is what appears to be a lady gathering an abundance of roses in a garden, however the ceramic jug hooked into her right elbow has broken and left her with the armful of flowers gathered into the folds of her gown. Her look of disappointment appears to be shared with the gargoyle spout...

Amuneal's Black Wood, Steel, and Bronze Industrial Wall Mounted Shelving

By Amuneal

Located in New York, NY

Amuneal's Charred Pine, Steel and Bronze Shelving with Formed Returns. This single bay Loft Shelving Series unit is wall-mounted to support five shelves, using custom machined brass fittings on bent steel posts. Amuneal’s proprietary machined hardware clamps onto the posts so that the shelves can be easily adjusted at any time. The burnt oak shelves are milled in house from pine before being hand-finished using the traditional Shou Sugi Ban process of burning the wood. Ebonized oak is a similar looking alternative black wood option. Once completed, the shelves are sealed with a protective coating that keeps that burnt finish from rubbing off. The combination of blackened steel posts, machined and patinated brass hardware and the charred oak shelves make this a stunning and sculptural shelving...

Oak Varnished Gold brass Calvet wall mirror by Antoni Gaudí, Spanish Design

By Antoni Gaudí

Located in Barcelona, ES

Solid oak coated in fine golden brass sheets using a gold leaf technique. A company that has always attributed such great importance to the author of the designs could never forget the great figures in history. That is why the BD catalogue of contemporary creations has always included those by admired classical masters. Antoni Gaudí (1852/1926) is, without doubt, the most internationally well-known Spanish architect. But is not only his buildings and brilliant architectural solutions that have travelled the globe. His integrated conception of architecture led him to pay attention, not only to structural calculations, but also to all the decorative elements, including furniture, that would form part of the building. The admiration felt by modern designers for the furniture designed by Gaudí has not gone unnoticed by BD which was the first company to rescue them from history by embarking on their serial production using...
