Stunning antique coat rack made of oak with stylish brass hooks.
If you are a collector of handcrafted, early 20th century decorative art then this striking, sculptural coat rack could be gracing your entrance soon. This rare and wonderful looking antique is a perfect example of the time & attention to detail that was put into seemingly ordinary pieces for every day usage. Over 100 years ago, this coat rack would first have to be drawn on paper (with seperate drawings for the stunning monkey sculptures) and after that a sculptor and other highly skilled artisans would create the seperate pieces that would ultimately make this striking coat rack. The perfectly carved, crouching monkeys on either side of this perfectly balanced entrance piece are what makes this coat rack exceptional. Other great features are the stylized birds and the beautifully shaped and highly practical brass hooks that also make it pleasant to use. For this gorgeous and typical Dutch Arts & Crafts coat rack from 1900-1910 to be in museum worthy condition is like the icing on the cake of this already marvelous antique. Thanks to the integrated hooks in the back, this solid oak coat rack also is easy and safe to mount on your wall.
