A vintage French tribute painting inspired by "The Broken Vessel" (La Cruche cassée) originally painted by Jean-Baptiste Greuze circa 1771, now held at the Louvre in Paris. Before that it was part of the personal collection of the Comtesse du Barry until the French Revolution. Depicted is what appears to be a lady gathering an abundance of roses in a garden, however the ceramic jug hooked into her right elbow has broken and left her with the armful of flowers gathered into the folds of her gown. Her look of disappointment appears to be shared with the gargoyle spout...
