For instance, hair jewelry made its way from the Romantic to the Grand period. Snake and animal motifs were also in demand throughout the era.
Early Victorian Jewelry
As to the Queen influence, Romantic Period jewelry had well pronounced sentimental vibes. It was the time when young Queen Victoria was in love with her husband, Prince Albert. And the whole nation admired their relationship. Cameos, matching brooches, miniature portraits and lockets reflected the likeness of loved ones. After Albert’s passing in 1861, the Early Victorian Period ended, and The Grand era began.

The interlacing, pierced decorated frame is ornamented with a central 0.59ct Old French pear cut diamond.
The exceptional textured scrolling leaf decorated brooch incorporates interlacing bands of vibrant blue hot enamel, in addition to seven individually collet set Dutch cut diamonds.
The lower portion of the brooch features an articulating terminal, reflecting the same design style and accented with a 0.49ct Old French pear cut diamond flanked to the upper and lower portions with two further Dutch diamonds.

Art Deco 20.00 Carat Carved Ruby Diamond Brooch
Located in North Hollywood, CA
This gorgeous Art Deco brooch is circa 1930 and is set with approximately 20 carats of carved rubies in gold and Platinum. The approximately 1.25 carats of diamonds (G-H color, VS-SI clarity) are set in platinum. This brooch is large at over 2" long and 1" wide. It would also look stunning as a pendant hanging from a gold chain (we do this with a lot of our brooches and they look fabulous). This brooch is lovely and rare, as most carved gemstones from the Deco period have not survived.
