The body color of this huge Ethiopian opal is sort of a pastel orange, but green, yellow and red flashes abound. The entire effect changes in every lighting situation. Even in indirect natural light, when some orange opals tend to look soupy, this stone takes on a gorgeous moire sheen.
Eytan Brandes bezel-set the stone in a heavy, bold solitaire -- over twenty grams of rich, unmistakable 18 karat gold -- with a beautiful satin finish. (Nice detail: the bezel's rim and the ring's interior are high-polish.)
This ring is a size 8; resizing is complimentary for full-price buyers within a range of 6.5 to 9.5. Please contact us if you have resizing requirements outside of this range.

Note: Opals are difficult to photograph! The color shown in the main photo best captures this stone's true body color.
Also note: Ethiopian opals are more porous than those from Australia or Brazil, so it's important that this ring be treated with care as a cocktail ring rather than as an everyday ring. While exposing the ring to water is not going to damage it (as long as you dry it off), this isn't a ring to wear while doing dishes...
