A bright, electric blue, variegated 12 x 27 mm oval boulder opal is set vertically in an exquisitely handmade "hearts and jawan" ornamented setting in this beautiful ring design. The opal is sourced from the Quilpie opal fields in Queensland, Australia. This completely hand fabricated 18K gold ring has a substantial tapered wide band with complementary accents on the sides. It's currently sized 8, resizable by your iocal jeweler You WILL be noticed wearing this treasure!

Steven Battelle
After a chance trip to SouthEast Asia in 1987, Steven Battelle became fascinated with the jewelry and iconology from the ancient cultures of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Asia. Eventually forming a partnership with a dedicated group of Balinese village goldsmiths using painstaking handmade techniques, they together create unique designs that incorporate those timeless and classic motifs. He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age. If you wish to create your own special piece, similar to a style we make, please let us know, and we'll see what we can do.
