A window to a park, or an important avenue of a large city can be a source of inspiration to create works of art. The behaviors of our peers give rise to creating stories that can be reflected in music, cinema and of course, in a painting.
José Palacios was born in 1970. Influenced by the Spanish artists of the 80s belonging to the Madrid Movement, he began his artistic career linking the world of Painting and Illustration. Years later, Palacios developed a figurative style combining neo-cubism and pop art. His current work is based on a combination of abstraction with pop art winks made with a palette of refreshing and bold colors.
His works are present in different private collections in Europe, United States and Asia.

McCall began her ‘Circle Drawing' artworks in 2004 where she focuses on the durational element and physical process of drawing. Using graphite on paper she draws her full arm's length in a continuous circular motion to the point of complete exhaustion.
During this physically demanding process, her position and ability to extend the arm diminishes to the extent she can no longer hold the graphite. McCall quotes, 'an important aim is to maintain a constant and continuous visible line that embodies time and energy. While performing, painfully, my entire body is noticeably putting effort into the drawing.'
This intense action and durational element often cause the paper to fatigue and rip, which is often identified as her distinctive trademark.
In McCall’s new addition to the series, materials such as Gold and Gouache are used to treat the surface and bring another layer of reference to important art historical processes. The combination of these new materials and grand scale of this practice, make McCall’s work particularly striking.
About Artist: Carali McCall is an emerging artist whose works are internationally recognised. A Canadian artist born in 1981, she is based in London, UK. McCall was awarded a PhD from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London, and her work is featured in the upcoming publication by Bloomsburg Publishing, 'Performance Drawing: New Practices since the 1960s'.
A finalist in the 2017 Jerwood Drawing Prize, McCall’s work is currently touring the United Kingdom and is situated in private and public collections curated alongside artworks by Picasso and Damien Hirst.

Joan Scheibel works in layers, working from light to dark. She is often asked about her process which she feels is more than just a process but is a way of life. She sees people and things that move her in life, a shadow, a dance, a church or just everyday events. Scheibel takes these ideas and images and reimagines them on canvas. In her words, “Suddenly and finally, the image that grabbed me, is reconstituted to grab you. The universal eye.”
Scheibel is a contemporary abstract painter currently living and working in Los Angeles. Scheibel received a full scholarship from the prestigious Otis/Parson College of Art and Design and would later study Illustration at Platt College of Design. Turning her attention inward for a more personal form of expression, Joan has pursued a fine art career for nearly a decade.

'Work no. 1 (Circle Drawing), 1hour 30minutes, 2017’ graphite on paper by Carali McCall (born 1981).
McCall began her ‘Circle Drawing' artworks in 2004, during her final year at art school in Toronto, Canada. Using graphite on paper she draws her full arm's length in a continuous circular motion to the point of complete exhaustion. McCall continues to focus on the durational element and physical process of drawing; however, her earlier works are rare as she now only performs for live audiences at certain events.
During this physically demanding process, her position and ability to extend the arm diminishes to the extent she can no longer hold the graphite. McCall quotes, 'an important aim is to maintain a constant and continuous visible line that embodies time and energy. While performing, painfully, my entire body is noticeably putting effort into the drawing.'
This intense action and durational element often cause the paper to fatigue and rip, which is often identified as her distinctive trademark.
About Artist: Carali McCall is an emerging artist whose works are internationally recognised. A Canadian artist born in 1981, she is based in London, UK. McCall was awarded a PhD from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London, and her work is featured in the upcoming publication by Bloomsburg Publishing, 'Performance Drawing: New Practices since the 1960s'.
A finalist in the 2017 Jerwood Drawing Prize, McCall’s work is currently touring the United Kingdom and is situated in private and public collections curated alongside artworks by Picasso and Damien Hirst.
