Paseo & Arrastro, from Service Scènes de Corrida (Set of 2), A.R.416 & A.R.423
Located in Palo Alto, CA
Created in 1959, Pablo Picasso (Málaga, 1881 – Mougins, 1973) Paseo A.R. 416 and Arrastro A.R. 423 are numbered from the edition of 50 on the reverse and stamped with the 'MADOURA PLEIN FEU' and ‘EMPREINTE ORIGINALE DE PICASSO' pottery stamps on the reverse. Pablo Picasso was an avid fan of bullfighting his entire life, attending his first corridas when he was a child in Spain and gaining a renewed interest in the events when he settled in the South of France after World War II. Undoubtedly the theatrical drama and flashy machismo of the matadors appealed greatly to Picasso's sensibilities and resonated with his Spanish roots. In 1959, Picasso produced an 8-piece plate series, each featuring a different bullfighting scene suggested through lively stipple lines. Paseo A.R. 416 depicts a line of bullfighters highlighted by a streak of yellow. The strokes of blue above and below the figures contrast with the warm of the yellow, creating visual tension that anticipates the drama of the fight. Arrastro, from Service Scènes de Corrida, 1959 A.R. 423 features a victorious  bullfighter holding his curved sword, known as an estqoue, over his head. The dark atmosphere created by the deep blue, black, and touch of brown is slashed by the intense yellow down the center of the plate. This shock of bright color evokes the excitement of the bullfighter as he stands triumphant over the bull. Catalogue Raisonné & COA: Pablo Picasso Paseo...

Medusa and Andromeda
By Magdeburger Kunstwerkstatten Reps and Trinte
Located in West Hollywood, CA
Medusa and Andromeda, is a unique three dimensional terra cotta sculpture/vase, created by the German firm Magdeburger Kunstwerkstatten, Reps and Trinte, a studio that specialized in fine works in terra cotta. This monumental piece depicts the entire story of the Medusa, who holds Andromeda captive by chaining her to rocks in the ocean. You can see the chains at her wrists and ankles. Medusa charges the Leviathan (dragon) as guard over the captive Andromeda. Andromeda was rescued by her future husband Perseus who killed the dragon and saved his future bride. This is one of the most unique works of its kind that has been seen to date. It was probably a sculpture/vase designed and created for presentation at one of the yearly Salon exhibitions in Europe. We have consulted experts in European ceramics...

Untitled (Roi David)
Located in Palo Alto, CA
Marc Chagall Untitled (Roi David), 1954 is a rare and imaginative culmination of the collaboration between Marc Chagall and the Fucina degli Angeli. This work is from the beginning of Chagall’s usage of Murano glass as a means of expression. In 1954, Chagall was invited into the Fucina degli Angeli by Egidio Costantini who was the master glass blower at the time. This stunning and mesmeric sculpture beckons the eyes through the use of vivid, bold colors that blend seamlessly together. Blue, purple, teal and hints of red coalesce in the center of the glass plate, creating the backdrop for a whimsical scene placed in the foreground. A man in a crown kneels in the center of the work, preoccupied with the string instrument delicately constructed in his hands. Gilded flecks of gold are highlighted around the crown and instrument, showing us the depth of the lyrical poet. The transparent glass allows us to follow suite of the man, becoming entranced and lost in thought. Created in 1954 in the Fucina degli Angeli in Venice, Italy, this Murano glass sculpture was realized by master glass artist Egidio Costantini (Brindisi, 1912- Venice, 1998) in collaboration Marc Chagall, (Vitebsk, 1887 – Saint-Paul, 1985). This work is inscribed ‘M. Chagall E. Costantini 1954 © Fucina degli Angeli’ on verso and is an artist proof. Catalogue Raisonné: Marc Chagall Untitled (Roi David), 1954 is fully documented and referenced in the below catalogue raisonnés and texts (copies will be enclosed as added documentation with the invoices that will accompany the sale of the work). Cloned Penguin with pet bottle (black)
Located in Malmo, SE
Original sculpture 5/8 ex. Silver plated bronze. Acquired directly from the artist. Free shipment worldwide. William Sweetlove, born in Ostend, Belgium, in 1949, unites dadaism with surrealism and pop art in humoristic sculptures that at first sight may seem “kitschy”. However, closer familiarity with his works reveals their role as a creative antidote to the overproduction and overconsumption of our society. With his cloned animals William Sweetlove calls for greater ecological awareness and urges us to reflect on the consequences of the climate change challengeing humanity. His cloned dogs wear boots since the sea level rises and the penguins carry water bottles since we are runnig out of drinking water. William Sweetlove has had exhibitions at art fairs, galleries and museums all over the world. His works are found in several private art collections. He has also participated in different art manifestations worldwide together with the Italian Cracking Art Group...

Moonlight
Located in Brooklyn, NY
The art on the wall is not the piece of metal. The art is the way your eyes read the space created by the light reflecting off the surface. These panels have effects that are dramatic and immediately apparent and another level of perception that is only apparent with prolonged study. Letting one’s eyes relax and simply gazing will yield bits of reflected light that curve away and behind other objects, swirls and shimmering lines that lift into the space in front of the surface. Aside from the dimensionality, these pieces can function like a diffraction grating—if one looks closely all hues of the spectrum can be seen on the surface. These are light sculpture, objects that change exactly the way sculpture changes as one walks around it. They are not meant to represent things. They are themselves and invite you to get to know and understand them. On the outside Bruce R. MacDonald’s work seems like frozen video displays lifted from the walls of some 22nd Century environment; while on the inside they have the detailing and complexity of sun sparkles on the ocean, the diversity of the forest floor, maps of some celestial event or pure abstractions of a particular moment of organic consciousness. The artist graduated with a degree from Haverford College in 1981 and decided to create physical objects. “After college I was tired of only having sheets of paper to show for long days of work. With metal, after forty hours, I had something tangible, something that would survive, and something that might be here forever.” The Museum of Science and Industry in London featured his helix CD rack...
