Controlled bubble glass, also known as Bolle or Bullicante, is glass that’s embedded with bubbles. Particularly popular during the 1950s among Murano glass artists, the bubbles are typically created by rolling the molten glass on a metal surface covered in sharp spikes, poking holes that are then covered with another layer of glass, trapping air in the holes.
