( or as he famously referred to himself as the "Mad Potter of Biloxi") The work features a gorgeous mottled green spinach high glaze with a myriad of colors and tones including browns, tans, and yellows. Very striking.
George Ohr (July 12, 1857 – April 7, 1918) is widely considered to be America's first art potter. Many art historians believe Ohr was a precursor to the American Abstract-Expressionism movement due to his innovative experimentation with modern clay forms.
