Large centre bowl in silver-plated brass by WMF, part of the Ikora line, Germany, 1930s. A radial black enamel starburst pattern spans the wide, shallow bowl, set on disc feet. The form and decoration reflect the Art Deco period with Bauhaus-era influence. Natural even patina, black enamel deep and intact, no chips, cracks or restorations; minor surface scratches to the underside consistent with age. Marked WMF Ikora on the underside. Suited to Art Deco and Bauhaus-inspired interiors, and to collectors of German modernist metalwork.
