In our thirty-year Biedermeier collecting career, we have acquired only a few similar pieces. It is a very rare gorgeous piece!
Most of the glass and mirrors are original. The beautiful two keys are also absolutely authentic. These are very important details proving the artistic and historical value of this fine vitrine. Each piece of furniture is artfully crafted.
The entire interior including the shelves is finished in lovely light maple.
The vitrine have beautiful highly figured walnut veneer and gorgeous details with lovely light deep amber color and 200 years old patina.
The brass hardware, lock and the key are original.

Splendid early 19th century Biedermeier secretaire/ secretary desk from the renowed period in Vienna/ Austria around 1820/25. A spectacular, early example of a Biedermeier secretary which has been venereed with finest mirror-matched nutwood, showing an extraordinary grain - just see how elegantly the grain pattern runs down from the top to the base without any visible interuption. This perfect sized Biedermeier secretaire impresses with its cambered worked doors, a drawer on the top and a fold-down writing surface. Influenced by the previous empire epoch, this superb, antique secretary is adorned by two beautifully worked full columns. When you fold down the lockable writing surface, the amazing designed interior opens up to the viewer´s eye: 9 small drawers and another large one on top, architecturally structured with ebonized column decoration and the still original mirror (unfortunately cracked - see picture#18) in the back. Artfully worked brass applications with lion heads finalize the spectacular look. A slightly pink/ orange shining marple plate on top and the still original facet cut mirror plate (showing aging spots/ slight scratches) in the back gives this matchless 20th century buffet a matchless appearance. The attached upper part with two facet cut glass panelled doors floats on four beautiful carved solid wooden columns, all additionally edged by polished brass applications. Two smaller compartments - veneered in fine birds eye maple - appear behind these lovely worked doors that can be wide opened. A 18th Century, antique two-part cabinet from the Baroque period, Maria - Theresia furniture. The Austrian furniture originates from a noble manor house, made of hand crafted Sprucewood and in good condition. The large buffet is accessible from all four sides. The top part is composed of an arched removable cupboard, resting on the wide commode. The interior consists of three double doors which can be opened from the front and backside with one small center drawer. The center of the lower part is consisting on each side four large drawers and on the side three drawers which are enhanced by round door knobs and handles...
