Handsome 24-piece collection of bright blue Niloak midcentury pottery. They are all in fabulous vintage condition apart from the small glossy glazed Dutch shoe. It sounds like it is cracked but I cannot visually see a crack. The rest appear to have no chips, cracks, or chiggers, and very light crazing if any. Please see photos. We are selling this as a complete 24-piece set. Five pieces are not marked. They are noted in the list, circa 1937-1947. Holy cow! Blue, blue, my love is blue……! I had never seen this much Niloak in one place before obtaining this collection. And all in one color. It is so gorgeous! What better way for you to jump right into the blue trend in decorating. These will be incredible whether you display them all together in one place or scatter them about. Someone spent years at and put in a lot of love into gathering these beauties. Please see below for list and sizes. Niloak is a line of pottery which was produced in Benton, Arkansas by Eagle Pottery Company. Eagle was found in 1890s by Charles Dean Hyten and his brothers. By 1904 Eagle was the largest pottery-ware business in the Benton area. Then in 1909 Arthur Dovey joined Hyten, by then the sole owner, to develop an operation to produce art pottery. Thus, began Niloak. The name Niloak is the spelling of kaolin reversed. Kaolin is the main ingredient of porcelain. Niloak was and is best known for their Swirl pottery resembling marbled paper. Then in 1932 Niloak transitioned from hand thrown products to slip-cast and mold-pressed production which was spearheaded by Stoin M. Stoin. These 62 Hywood shapes were simply marked on the bottom Niloak. Beginning in 1939 new shapes were added that provided a lip and the bottoms of pieces were able to be glazed. Because of the war effort many materials were regulated which were used in the Niloak glazes and clay, so the recipes were reformulated. After the war regular production resumed and new bright glazes were used. By the end of 1947 Niloak was no more. Fabulous pair of midcentury Hollywood Regency hand gilded gold plaster large scale figural lamps boy with drinking jug and original slightly tapered gold leafed or gilded drum shades in the style of Marbro Lamp Company. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. Both have been rewired with new cords and sockets. The base of one lamp has been patched, repaired, and re-gold leafed. The shades are a bit age worn with some creases, dents, & tears, but still look so fabulous on these lamps we had to leave them. Just two young boys, probably best friends, or brothers, hanging out in the hot summer sun sipping on a jug of… (well, we can’t be EXACTLY sure what they’re sipping on, but we’re going with water!) Although, they are both missing one shoe so who knows? Ha-ha… Just kidding, these boys are well-behaved!! This is a fantastic pair of hand gilded plaster figural lamps of a boy drinking from a water jug in the style of Marbro. One lamp actually has “O. Art Co” carved into the base but throughout extensive research we were unable to find any information about them; however, we have seen identical lamps marked Marbro, though ours are not marked as such. Either way, they are FABULOUS!!! And as similar as they are, we have found a few slight differences and since we know they were made from a mold we think maybe they each had a different individual artist that gave them their finishing touches. If you look closely one boy has something coming from the spout of his jug and the other does not, the rocks or gravel on the ground of one base is a bit raised and the other is flatter, the drinking jug details differ, and the pant legs are slightly different. And those are just a few what we have found. And as fabulous as the lamps are, we also ADORE the original aged gold leaf slightly tapered drum shades!! They are slightly different in color as one has a bit darker hue and silver inner shade, and the other inner shade is gold. They definitely have an aged all over patina, both on the bodies of the lamps and the shades, which we think is what makes them even more wonderful! These lamps are hand gilded, and the boy alone stands at 24 inches, so they are definitely large scale! Almost like having a couple of actual toddlers around! But not really… these guys are much quieter and won’t be making a mess in whatever room you leave them! LOL! These incredible lamps certainly bear a whimsical aura, and they are ready to fill your home with joy, character, and an Ambience full of vintage Hollywood Regency awesome-ness! The Marbro Lamp Company was established in 1934, shortly after World War II by Morris Markoff and his brother Elliot in Los Angeles, California. They were one of the finest lamp producers during the mid-1900s and mainly sold in a handful of shops. Marbro lamps were one of a kind and some took up to ninety days to complete. They were occasionally made from sculptures customers would bring to the shop and others from vases and objects d’art from all over the world. They employed highly skilled wood turners and lamp shade makers. They would make occasional sculptures and decorative objects, but they were best known for their creative and high-quality table lamps. The Masco Corporation acquired Marbro Lamp Company in 1987 and their Los Angeles plant closed its doors in 1990. This perfectly imperfect pair of hand gilded figural boy lamps...

Words cannot describe that feeling when you find the perfect piece of art… and here we are, SPEECHLESS!!! This is an absolutely STUNNING watercolor of a winter farm landscape signed by G. Russell Case surrounded by a lovely gray matte and housed in a fabulous aluminum frame. It bears gorgeous colors of both dark & light blue, white, yellows, and browns. It is ready to ascend on ANY wall of your home that needs a magnificent, realistic art piece with incredible attention to detail. It is a snowy winter scene on a desolate farm that appears to be deserted... or possibly a comforting shelter to a few wilderness creatures trying to hunker down from the brisk breeze of the frosty winter air. Dark shadows of distant mountains boldly stand behind aged and broken utility poles and power lines that possibly once served the abandoned building. A ray of mid-day sunlight enhances a fractured white picket fence that lines the property above the glistening, snow covered ground. And a patch of brush and boulders peek through melted spaces where the sun kissed their peaks while tiny, scattered footprints have broken through the blanket of snow from wildlife scavenging the ground for a morsel. Breath-taking and bitterly cold but also breathtakingly beautiful… Was it a harsh winter and someone will return in warmer climate or is this the remnant of what was once a prosperous farm now vacant and meant to be admired by passersby? There is beauty to be found in what your imagination believes it to be… what could be… and what once was. This painting says that to me… What does it say to you? Russell Case was born in 1966 in Brigham City, Utah and he studied at Utah State University where he intended to become a professor of art. Magnificent… Mactan Stone…. And the style of Maitland Smith!!! This is a marvelous square end table comprised of a gorgeous Mactan rough edge stone pedestal base featuring a smooth, polished diagonal peach stripe and a lovely round glass tabletop with a beveled edge in the style of Maitland Smith. So, a fun fact about Mactan stone… It is a sedimentary conglomerate of shale and coral quarried in the Philippines on an island called Opon which is located at the eastern part of the province of Cebu. It’s an island encircled by fascinating beaches and wondrous sights. The original name for these stones was "Coral stones" but that changed as the years passed by. Mactan Stones is Opon's Marvelous Gem. And this end table is DEFINITELY a gem!! Isn’t it GORGEOUS??? Its style is modern and a bit of Art Deco Revival with a Hollywood Regency and Mediterranean feel. Maybe even leaning a bit Postmodern… Either way, this spectacular end table is going to grace your home with its stunning presence whether on the side of a lounge chair in the living room holding a beverage or next to a chair in the sitting room hosting a nice table lamp. Marvelous vintage Postmodern end or side table comprised of a black lacquered pedestal base with beveled edges & gold base trim and a rounded square shaped top with gold trim edges and mirror surface. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. No outstanding flaws seen but there are a couple small dots on the mirrored top where the silvering is missing along with some scratches, and a few scuffs in the black paint.
