Rugged, Rustic, and Ranch Oak!! This is a SUPERB vintage step end table by A. Brandt comprised of a rustic solid ranch oak frame with an Acorn Brown finish that is signature to A. Brandt Company furniture. The all-over woodgrain is outstanding, and the finish is gorgeous. The step cube or box has two drawers with square wood pulls, and it has wonderful farm or country style legs with pegs through the tabletop… a cool detail! Can’t you just see this table amongst the décor in the Yellowstone Ranch?? We sure can!! Handsome Mid-Century Modern club chair or lounge chair from the Flair Division of Bernhardt Furniture. It is in wonderful vintage condition and wearing its original light turquoise blue nubby fabric. It has been professionally cleaned but the fabric does have fading as you would expect and there are still stains but no holes or tears. It will be at its best recovered. It is priced accordingly. I must tell you when we walked into the home where we obtained this chair and many of our other recent and soon to be offerings, I thought if I was ever going to faint this is the time. Of course, the house itself blew me away and then……the original furniture and art in all its glory. This chair is part of a three-piece living room suite by Bernhardt Furniture Flair Division and we are offering all three pieces this week. This club chair with its Lawson styling and loose cushions is really comfy; plus, it is held up off the floor with a fabulous base. The base or legs are comprised of a pair of walnut planks turned upright and running from front to back on each side of the chair. Simple yet dynamic.
Bernhardt Furniture was established in 1889 by John Mathias Bernhardt and has been going strong for over 125 years. He spent many years out west in Oregon Territory. Either way, this is an incredible set in the style of James David including 4 directors style chairs comprised of chrome frames consisting of round chrome tube front and back legs topped with black plastic caps, horizontal double cylindrical tube stretchers in the front and single stretchers on the sides & back, and fabulous rectangular chrome bar arms. They wear a lovely white vinyl or faux leather sling on their backs and seats and the square dinette or game size table is comprised of round chrome tube legs and chrome bar edges holding a gorgeous square glass inset. MY. OH. MY…. What have we HERE??? This is a phenomenal pair of iconic “Cone Chairs” by Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen!!! The Cone chair was originally designed by Verner Panton in Denmark in 1957. As the name suggests, the body of the chair takes the form of a cone. Standing on its tip, a semi-circular padded shell extends upwards to form the back and armrests, thereby creating a very comfortable and eye appealing armchair. This pair is comprised of fabric covered sheet metal frames bent into a cone shape, gorgeous bright red hopsacking with white stitching, a loose round seat cushion, and a flat 4-prong chrome base with swivel feature and black glides. If you remove the round seat you can view inside the cone base. An original set of red cone chairs much like ours debut in Verner Panton’s father’s restaurant called “Kom Igen” (meaning: Come Again in Danish) in 1958. How COOL is that?? And a fun little history fact on the Cone chair is that it was originally manufactured by Percy Von Halling-Koch who founded the company “Plus Linje” specifically to produce the Cone chair. In the 70’s, they were manufactured by Fritz Hansen, until 2004 when Swiss manufacturer “Vitra” took over… and they still produce them today. Ours are definitely vintage and throughout our extensive research we believe they were made in the Fritz Hansen era. In a statement made by Verner Panton’s friend Niels-Jorgan Kaiser, he explains the design of the Cone chair as “a ballet dancer standing on her toes and easily turning pirouettes’, supported by a flat four-star base.” His genius to use the geometric form and outstanding bright colors were beyond his time, which was a breakthrough in the history of chair design. And his designs are still classic. They are mid-century modern in style with an Atomic or Mod flair, although they are made in Denmark… so they also have a bit of Scandinavian SASS, and they are sure to make a statement in any room of your home. They would be FABULOUS in a game room, at the counter of your indoor bar...

Gorgeous Mid-Century Modern étagère comprised of a bow shape chrome frame and 5 bowed smoked glass shelves. Done in the style of James David or Design Institute of America aka DIA. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use. There is a small chip on the backside of one shelf and the chrome has no outstanding flaws that we have detected. Please see photos, Circa 1960-1970’s.
WOW!!! Just look at this GORGEOUS chrome and smoked glass 5 shelf étagère!! Designed in the manner of James David or DIA, this wonderful Mid-Century Modern étagère has a distinct appearance… starting with four tall, vertical square chrome tubes that are placed in a manner that creates a tall slender “square” in the center of the étagère. That “square” is attached to a large chrome rectangle which goes against the wall, and five curved smoked glass shelves slide through the center square and attach to the rectangle and pull this beauty together. It has a smooth, sleek bowed or curved design which will fit in nicely with any style home. Scandinavian Modern Scissor Lounge Chair by Folke Ohlsson for DUX

Handsome and iconic Scandinavian Modern Scissor lounge chair designed by Folke Ohlsson for DUX. It is in wonderful vintage condition. The wood frame has been restored; however, there may still be small signs of age. We did have to fill some rather deep flaws in the wood. The straps have been replaced with appropriate new straps. And the foam cushions are new and newly upholstered. Please see photos, circa 1950s.
Now you can get all your DUX in a row!! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. This is the iconic and beautiful Scissor Lounge Chair. It was designed by Folke Ohlsson for his company DUX, Inc. purportedly in 1949. It is so incredible in its simplicity and when viewed from the side you can see immediately where it got its name. We are very excited about this wonderful chair here at our shop. Its walnut frame has been completely restored and we have replaced all the straps, which were beyond repair, with proper strapping. Plus, we have made new foam cushions and upholstered them in a fabulous black and taupe horizontal stripe fabric.

Fantastic vintage Art Deco set of 3 chrome tube and original black vinyl or faux leather chairs attributed to Kem Weber Z Chair. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The frames have scratches consistent with age and on two of the chairs the texture on the vinyl is a bit different than the third chair. These chairs also have an extra factory hole in the arm on opposite sides leading us to believe these may have been originally part of a ganged set. They work perfectly as singles, however. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1920-1940’s.
